June 18, 201312 yr Just landed at unique airport number 444. Coincidentally, the airport name is Hilltop which is fitting for me since students at my hometown college (WKU) are known as the Hilltoppers. This airport was tricky with all the houses nearby but was rather flat which was surprising given the name. Where is everyone else among unique airports? Have you focused on the seaplane bases yet? That is one area I have not hit yet. Will post again at 500. Has taken many hours to get to 444 so that could be a while from now. Take care and fly safe. kyle
June 18, 201312 yr Congratulations on #444. I only have 262 so a long long way to go. Funny thing I have 62 unique aircraft flown. My favorite aircraft shows as the C-46 when I have many many more hours in the Carbon Cub. Steve
June 18, 201312 yr Author What's the ICAO for Hilltop? AK24 Congratulations on #444. I only have 262 so a long long way to go. Funny thing I have 62 unique aircraft flown. My favorite aircraft shows as the C-46 when I have many many more hours in the Carbon Cub. Steve My fave still shows as the Maule. Even though I fly the Police RV-6 constantly. Must have been all those clandestines back even before Alaska. You use custom paint jobs, right? Bet it counts every one as unique.
June 18, 201312 yr Author I have over a 100 unique aircraft flown, most of which were test liveries. How many airports do you have? I know you are organizing the all Alaska hops which I really want to participate in if time allows. Watching some of these guys do touch and go's at the 800 feet runways (and getting all 3 wheels down so it counts) will be a lot of fun. We did a few group flights on the airports around Wasilla and it was always an adventure seeing how many attempts it took to do a full stop landing and then take off again after everyone was on the ground. Oh, cubs were not allowed :-)
June 18, 201312 yr Where is everyone else among unique airports? Have you focused on the seaplane bases yet? That is one area I have not hit yet. I started "collecting" the airports in Flight quite a while ago. So far I have: 557 Airports in AK (all of them?) 36 Airports in HI 122 Seaplane bases (18 to go?) 29 Canadian airports It's been a labor of love and it will be a bit sad when there are no new ones to find. I have been keeping a spreadsheet which I can post after I clean it up a bit.
June 18, 201312 yr Author I am assuming the count did not go up for the Canadian airports? I am pretty sure when I landed at a closed airport east of Wasilla (Jacob's Mine or something) it added to my unique airport number.
June 18, 201312 yr You are right. The unique count did not go up for the Canadian airports. Are you keeping a list of the airports you have landed at? You can see the airport codes in your career.spb file.
