Is Maddog 2010 Pro still worth buying?

Featured Replies

There are still quite a few bugs in this remember, if you compare it to the latest releases it just not quite there. Systems wise yes but in easy of use and user friendliness I don't think so. The sound bugs for instance, engine noise always on in cold and dark, framerates worse than the NGX. Switches that cant be clicked, must be dragged to operate.
I would love to see a native FSX model but also I think it needs a lot more than just a facelift, I'm thinking more in the lines of a V 2.0. A major overhaul.

"Truly fantastic"... and still not FSX native.

EPIC FAIL.

That really doesn't matter. It flys a d operates like the real thing. An don't even bother comparing it to PMDG because I can't be arsed to hear it.

EPIC FAIL mate

My first impressions after "initial approach" to Maddog 2010 Pro: Great plane that gives me very deep and very advanced systems simulation! Besides I like cockpit organization and interaction with avionics, exactly as in MD-11. What a pity Douglas does not make airliners anymore...   B)

I am looking to purchase the Maddog 2010 Pro or the Coolsky Super 80 Pro.

Couple questions.

Are the Maddog's systems and FMS way advanced over Coolsky's?

How is the Maddog 2010 Pro FMS Navdata is updated?
I had read something about a converter .. rather than just a file download for Coolsky.

Can Aerosoft NavdataPro be used to get the Maddog Navdata?

This is my favorite plane, so i''ll try to give you the answers:

- Maddog's systems are probably the most advanced ever created, so yes, they are a way advanced. Flight model too. There is no better simulation for any PC based flight sim

- Maddog use PMDG navdata, the best way is to copy / paste manualy, nothing so complicated

- Aerosoft navdatapro or any other navdata sourse which has PMDG navdata is good

Zeljko,

Thank you for answering.

I have PMDGNG for FSX and get the Navdata from Aerosoft NavdataPro.

So I download this and copy it for Maddog FSX folders., ok.

Can this same FSX downloaed navdata be copied also to the Maddog 2010 Pro for FS9 version?

The SimMarket price is now US$ 44.12 (download) ... that is a good value.

I would await the PMDG 777 TBH, it promises to be state-of-the-art for sim add-ons and fully supported.

PMDG are not the only Devs in town :good:  :drinks:   Many others have created better simulated aircraft also:  MadDog, Coolsky, Majestic, etc.  The OP asked about the Maddog Update, not the PMDG 777

I don't know if there is a difference between PMDG navdata for FSX and FS9, never tried to do this.

Just to be more precise and to save your time - PMDG Navdata is located in your main fsx folder/PMDG. There you will see NAVDATA and SIDSTARS folders. You need to copy NAVDATA to FSX main folder/FMCWP and SIDSTARS to FSX main folder/MADDOG and that's all. Don't run any cleanup utility after this

Ok,

That is what I will do ... thanks for the details.

Then I will do the same for Maddog (FS9) .. I will just assume same procedure.

Have a good day.
