July 18, 201312 yr I was doing some AI flight plan creation and looking at flightaware. It lists two flights daily from PHKO to PHNL with Aloha Airlines as the carrier (737) http://flightaware.com/live/flight/AAH45/history/20130717/0922Z/PHKO/PHNL I thought they went under in 2008, and did not find an article about their reemergence. Does anyone know? Thanks
July 18, 201312 yr Author Thanks! That pointed me in the right direction. It's now Aloha Air Cargo. (With a new Green/White paint scheme) It was just strange to see flightaware listing it as Aloha Airlines. BTW I found the AI paint for both Aloha Cargo and Air cargo in the file section too.
July 19, 201312 yr I think when Saltchuk bought the Aloha cargo business out of the bankruptcy, they were able to transfer over Aloha's FAA operating certificate, so that might explain how FlightAware carries it. There was a lot of bad blood over the actions of Mesa Airlines who were considered to have forced Aloha into bankruptcy, and then wanted to get the "Aloha" name to use instead of go!. The local response was pretty much FU (well, probably more like "it isn't pono" but same effect). scott s. .
