July 22, 201312 yr I am thinking about biting the bullet with the next Europe mesh. It comes with the worldwide mesh. I know they/it works with UTX and GEX, but how is it all installed? I presume worldwide first then the Europe NEXT afterwards. Is it easy enough? I did ask before but cant seem to find where I asked it. Paul Paul Westcott
July 22, 201312 yr Commercial Member They come with full auto installers that handle everything for you so they are quite easy to install. Yeah I guess you should install the worldwide mesh before regional meshes though I believe FSX will show the highest resolution mesh available anyway (unless you specify otherwise through scenery library order).
July 22, 201312 yr Yeah I guess you should install the worldwide mesh before regional meshes though I believe FSX will show the highest resolution mesh available anyway (unless you specify otherwise through scenery library order). Resolution always trumps priority in regards to mesh. regards, Joe The best gift you can give your children is your time.
July 22, 201312 yr Author Hi Joe, Yh im sure it was yourself that told me before (I may be wrong on that though) Regards Paul Paul Westcott
July 27, 201312 yr Author right, im just going to buy this just now, when I buy the "next Europe", how do I add the free global coverage to the basket? Paul Westcott
July 28, 201312 yr Author Anybody? I can't email them as I get a dll error when trying to install the "default client" for windows 7. Even an email address for Justin would be fine ?? Thaniks Paul Westcott
July 28, 201312 yr Commercial Member I believe this is his support email address, at least it's listed in the site. support(a t)fsgenesis.com
July 28, 201312 yr Author thanks dude, I could not find it at all, just a support link tat led me to my default mail client error. much appreciate. Paul Westcott
July 28, 201312 yr Author I could not edit my last post - so I apologise for this post getting "bumped up" For anyone who has bought a "next map" or anyone who has bought maps that qualify for the free world mesh - how does one apply for that free mesh? Paul Westcott
July 28, 201312 yr You are buying at an unfortunate time. FSGenesis is in the midst of changing their web site and their package deals as well. The mesh is great, but I'd stop and contact owner Justin Tyme before proceeding to find out what the real deal is. You might find this interesting too: http://www.flightsim.com/vbfs/content.php?13918-Interview-With-Justin-Tyme Hans Soule
July 29, 201312 yr Author Hey flibinite, I had emailed him about how to het the free world mesh when buying the next europe but i am not sure he will reply now. I have heard alot of good hings bout fsgenesis and one bad thing(the issues about the spike and trench in ireland). I am not really sure what to do now, and i am not sure of what to make of the comments below the interview. What can i expect of toposim if he has an "attitude" towards fixing customers issues etc. I am sure utx and/or gex was developed with fsgenesis being installed, so i am sure if flight1 can use it while developing something on top of it then its good to go?? Paul Westcott
July 30, 201312 yr My uninformed opinion is that FSGenesis priced their products too low and the business model was unsustainable. The quality of the product is very good and I recommend you purchase this (or other mesh products) regardless of free extras, it will transform your flight experience. I think the attitude issue you've identified is the exception rather than the norm. But do consider the (few) other options out there, perhaps including Orbx? Hans Soule
July 30, 201312 yr Author I have not long bought GEX, and I am not keen on just replacing it so soon, money is too tight to just replace a set of textures, and at the price of FTXG the wife would go mental. I wrote over on simforums, about fsglobal ultimate for Europe as I can get the for a couple of quid cheaper than FSG. Afaik FSGenesis and global ultimate are my only mesh options available. I am sure this issue in Ireland(I am sure that's where it was) can be sorted with simbuilderX or something - even if it just roughly got the issues to round eight(lowered spike and raised trench). There as to be a lot of people out there have bought a mesh, and I cannot believe there is only the above two. Thanks Paul Westcott
July 30, 201312 yr Dude you don't need to add free stuff to your basket. Once you complete your purchase, you can access your download files by clicking "My Downloads" section. Then you can download those free stuff with Next Map Europe meshes you bought. It's quite simple.
