I'm looking for some of the prettier chrome vintage airliners that were around in the 60's and 70's. Google searching only comes up with American Airlines. I know there must be many more than that.

 

Reason is I'd like to search for liveries for the planes I have of them, but I can't search if I don't know what I'm looking for. If you know what I mean.

Can't find a real plane for Condor but this must be it.

Sucks that the new composite materials being put out will stop the old polished metal look.

 

This is why AA is changing their scheme. There's no metal to polish on the 787 or the new airbuses.

I'm not convinced that's the reason AA changed liveries and at the same time destroying one of the worlds most recognized brands.

There are plenty of shades of silver paint that would have done well to approximate bare aluminum.

I think it had more to do with the US Air merge to give the airline a new look.

AA really should rethink this livery change and I wonder who it was at the company that decided it would be a good idea to eliminate the best livery in airline history and replace it with this current train wreck of a paint scheme.

Hmmm....seems FSX does not do chrome very well. Its very reflective bright at one angle only then basically appears as a grey. It just doesn't look shiny like it should.

This is one of the best true polished aluminum schemes I've seen for AA. Pics don't do it justice compared to what you see in the sim.

So shiny it looks more like a blue than a silver. Plus the paint job on it is pretty bad, it's very inconsistent and doesn't look correct.

 

But, I shouldn't be talking, I couldn't make a repaint that looks even 50% as good as that one. I'm not artistic!

Nope, but "Ruth" and "Boeing" as search terms should yield some results. The library is very picky then searching for "727" or something like that.
