August 4, 201312 yr This will basically be for "lite" aircrafts like those from CLS, Just Flight, and Quality Wings because I know they don't work properly with more advanced add on planes. I already have the Saitek multi panel and it works fine with all my "lite" airplanes (CLS MD81/82, DC-10, A330/A340, 767, 747-100/200). Those are all the lite add ons I have at the moment. I want to get the switch panel next to control my lights, landing gear, etc. Can anybody confirm if the switch panel works flawlessly on CLS, Just Flight and Quality Wings airplanes? I want to get the QW 757 and JF L1011 next. I will probably get the switch panel at the same time so I just want to make sure it works. I'm also interested in the Saitek instrument display but I'm wondering how the refresh rate is? Is it smooth? Any help greatly appreciated. Thanks Nature Boy
August 4, 201312 yr Hello I use the switch Panel from Saitek and it works fine with CLS DC10 & the 747-200/300 and all of the FS9 Caronado and many others GA aircraft that I have. You will be happy with it I am sure, and if you fly the heavy aircraft you should have a second throttle quadrant, just in case you don't already own two quadrants. John
August 4, 201312 yr Author Hi John, That's great to hear. So far, all the CLS add ons work with my multi panel and your post confirms the switch panel works on your two CLS planes. So I guess it should be safe to say the switch panel will work on all CLS as the multi panel does. Before I purchase this, just waiting to hear from QW and the JF L1011 owners. I don't want to be limited to CLS only. Thanks Nature Boy
August 4, 201312 yr I have 2 of the saitek instruments they update very smooth I don't get any delay. They do however freeze up now and again very intermittent sometimes one freezes and the other is fine for the flight . I use powered USB and have upgraded them as well but still get the odd freeze up. Do think they are good value at £80 best so mayby just get one to start with and see what you think. You can get jet guages at simviation Regards 3080rtx on a i7 12700k with 32 Gig ddr5. 2gig Ssd Quest 2 Windows 11

On the very rare occasion, I've had my multi panel freeze. What I do is, I minimize FSX and close the Saitek driver through task manager. Then open the driver program again and everything is back to normal for the rest of the flight. Don't know if the drivers on the display work the same way, however. This is going to be tough. Don't think I have enough money for everything yet. So it's going to be a tough call between the display and switch panel and I'm also getting both the JF L1011 and QW 757. I was planning to get FTX Global first, but I think a new hardware and two quality add ons on the same day should be more fun. Heck, I think I'm the only FSX owner who haven't purchased the NGX yet. lol. Thanks again Nature Boy
August 4, 201312 yr If you use the free SPAD rather than the default driver, you should have more luck with the multi panel and switch panel. I know there are some planes that the default driver can't handle (737NGX for instance). I just switched to SPAD (make sure to uninstall the default drivers). Works great.

August 4, 201312 yr Author switch panel doesnt work too well on the ifly 737 I plan to use the panel with "lite" aircrafts like CLS and QW. I can't fly the iFly 737. The mouse pointer bug kills my fps. It could go from being smooth to very stuttery as soon as the mouse pointer is shown on screen. If you use the free SPAD rather than the default driver, you should have more luck with the multi panel and switch panel. I know there are some planes that the default driver can't handle (737NGX for instance). I just switched to SPAD (make sure to uninstall the default drivers). Works great. Thanks. I just read about SPAD a few days ago. I will give it a shot when I get the NGX which is probably next after the switch panel and add ons. Thanks I will try that. for an idiot like me though where do I find the location of "Then open the driver program" if u give me the name of your panel program I may be able to find the instrument one Many thanks Click on the windows start (or win icon) on the very bottom left corner of your task bar. For my multi panel, it would be: Start/All Programs/Saitek Pro Flight Panels/Launch Flight Sim X plugin manually. I'm sure the program for the display should appear around there too. You can make a shortcut of it to your desktop. If you can't find it there, look for the Saitek folder where ever you installed it. You wanna make sure you close the one that froze first, or else you'll have two Saitek programs running in the background (the frozen one and the newly opened one). Nature Boy
