[Trouble]: Guys! My FSX has crashed.

Featured Replies

Hello, Guys!

My FSX has been crashed despite of pasting this file "UIAutomationCore.dll" in FSX Folder.

Using Windows 7 Ultimate.

Plz tell me problem.

Regards,

AP,

Do you have the free version of FSUIPC installed? That one will prevent most appcrashes. Give it a try! It's free!

Nothing to do with the UI file.

Delete all your saved flights and the WX files associated with those flights.

Now see what happens.

Hi Jim,

I read your note with interest, since I had a lockup and freeze on a flight last night (A2A P47). The potential cause was right in line with the reasoning for the UIautomation.dll fix in the latest AVSIM Guide - lot's of keyboard activity and view changes.

The only *.WX file I found was for that specific flight, in Users\Appdata\Roaming\Microsoft\FSX. Found a ton of them in the Root folder, but they were dated 2006/2007, and were all for Missions and Tutorials - doubt they would be causing a problem.

Am I missing something?

JKH

Wouldn't the User file get automatically overwritten with a new flight?

Who is the better one? I don't know. What I do?

OK I try FSUIPC first. Let's see what happens.

J Skorna! What are WX files? If I deleted saved flights then every time I have to set new flight+cockpit instructions. These are tough and wasting time.

WX files contain the weather data for each saved flight. When that file gets corrupt, then you get weather.dll errors such as yours.

Jim has right. Wx files in Windows 7 are in "documents/Flight Simulator X Files".

Anyway, you should install FSUIPC too, this will add some more stability and will fix some other posible crashes.

Check also that you have the right version of "UIAutomationCore.dll". This is right version, just copy this in fsx main folder https://www.dropbox.com/s/adxsx0mxb6wztil/UIAutomationCore.rar

OK Man you're right. So my weather files are corrupt probably and where these are stored so I delete them. Because same crash has been occurred today again.

Sometimes, crashes and sometimes not. What I do? A perfect file of NOT-CRASHING is needed.

There is very little rhyme or reason why these freezes happen!

After months of stability I too am getting system freezes. Sometimes they happen 1 minute after launching a flight, sometimes (arrggh!) 30 minutes into a flight. Sometimes I happily conclude a flight, load up a new one, and whammo - it freezes.

For me, it is always the same culprit: d3d11.dll is listed as the failing module in Windows Application Event viewer. The d3d11.dll module is used to process 3D settings in games by Direct X 11, which is the current version for Windows 7.

I have a feeling it is due to some kind of synergy between my Nvidia card and FSX, but not sure. At least I know the culprit...   :)

Guys! Same problem has been persisted again.

I've just applied CCLEANER in my PC and FSX has started to crash, sometimes during takeoff and sometime during landing. It remains good when plane remains in sky. See image below. I've both files already UIAutomationCore.rar and FSUIPC but I don't know what problem has come after executing CCLEANER in my PC.

How about posting an AppCrashView report (link and details in AVSIM CTD Guide - see pinned topic in this forum).  This software will give you details of every crash on your system (unless you deleted all the reports with CCleaner.  Think CCleaner does that automatically).  When you get a crash like this and see the crash message, you need to click on "View problem details", copy them, and let us know what caused the crash.
