August 9, 201312 yr Can any beta testers either not currently, or currently using EZCA comment on whether it is a purchase that would be of great benefit while flying in the 777? I wouldn't be using it for any ground or shake effects but mostly for camera positioning. I've never needed those features in the NGX but I have a feeling this add-on will be needed in the 777. Care to comment?
August 9, 201312 yr I personally use EZDOK for setting my default position in the flight deck then disable it. Also for walk around I use it. I have no complaints with FSX's view system to be honest. But I'm using a trackpad on my laptop - when using a proper mouse, the mouse look is very handy. - Luke Pabari
August 9, 201312 yr Author From what I gather it is to set custom viewpoints in the VC and outside? Then I assume you can walk around the virtual world a little easier? My thought would be it would come in handy to get a view of the overhead dead on, kinda like the 2D view in the NGX.
August 9, 201312 yr I thought this was a piece of software I didnt really need. Didnt seem worth it at all. Eventually though I decided to give it a chance. I couldnt fly without it now - it makes such a difference. I have 4 views setup on my hat key on the joystick. If I tap left on the hat key it takes me to the captains view, tap right and it smoothly moves over to the fo side, tap up and it smoothly looks up and gives me a full view of the overhead, tap down and it looks down at the radio stack. It is so fast and so easy to move round the entire cockpit. You can also add tons of outside views too which is also cool! Il post a video up when I get back - its really worth it I think Elliot Westacott
August 9, 201312 yr Author Thanks for the responses. Do you use other features like the turb and ground bumps and jolts? To me that seems fake. I've seen some videos where it's enabled and I don't like the look.

August 9, 201312 yr Thanks for the responses. Do you use other features like the turb and ground bumps and jolts? To me that seems fake. I've seen some videos where it's enabled and I don't like the look. I used to use it but now I dont - it got pretty frustrating and I have found it a very confusing feature to tweak - there is an option to set how much head movement etc but there are like 20 different scrolly setting things to do it and and its very confusing and not very well explained - in my opinion. So I have turned random head movement off. I left on dynamic head movement though - for me this is alot less exaggerated and provides nice subtle head movements during power changes, turns, turbulence etc without being OTT. I have also left on an option which simulates the larger movements upon touchdown, so your head moves forward alot and bumps around alot on initial touchdown for 1-2 seconds. Ill go do a quick video now for you - but yeh - Id get that $30 ready! Elliot Westacott
August 9, 201312 yr Author head moves forward alot and bumps around alot on initial touchdown for 1-2 seconds. This still happens with the NGX and other planes in FSX. I think it's a default setting. I don't mind that but the OTT as you say movements are a turn off. I don't have a hat switch, so can you use keyboard commands?

Excuse the quality - just shot on an iphone for speed! https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=HYP-xpZTzkk available in HD Elliot Westacott
August 9, 201312 yr If you don't need it for the NGX, why do you suddenly think you'll have to get it for the 777? Luke Harvest
August 9, 201312 yr Here is the head movement on takeoff and turning - also in glorious HD As you can see its subtle but there (camera is fixed so all movement is Ezca) - much less exaggerated than normal. I really like this - adds an extra touch of realism but if you dont like it you can switch it off Elliot Westacott
August 9, 201312 yr Author If you don't need it for the NGX, why do you suddenly think you'll have to get it for the 777? Because in the NGX I'd just hit Shift-4 or 3 or whatever and BAM a head on view of the overhead. I don't like having that captain view looking up on an angle to it. Feel my drift?

I know exactly what you mean. However, I'm sure PMDG have added a head-on view of the T7 overhead (from the VC) just like they have in the NGX. Luke Harvest

Yeah it looks like this is a simpler option than hitting 'A' multiple times to cycle through views. I know exactly what you mean. However, I'm sure PMDG have added a head-on view of the T7 overhead (from the VC) just like they have in the NGX. Probably, but I'm kind of tired hitting 'A' to cycle through multiple views to get there. I might wait till she's out to make the purchase. I don't know yet.
