I'm on it, love this aircraft! Glad to finally have it back.

Is it done yet? When will it be released? Will it be freeware or payware? How much will it cost? Any updates on the progress? Will it work for Xbox? Can I be a beta tester? How's the performance in VR?

Hey guys, I'm thinking of getting this aircraft .. what do you all find special about this particular model by LES?

Looks and flies / handles beautifully! A true example of how good a flight model can be in X-Plane.

Has code that makes you have to opperate the engines carefully if you do not want to lose it, comes with wheel and float versions, and it's one of my preferred aircraft in RL too :-)

I just did! Now I'm off to fly this beauty :)

I'm sure you'll like it!

When operating from the seas / lakes, make sure you edit your environment setting and set the waves to a height of not more than 0.5 feet!

Can you do that and keep real weather activated?

I bought this plane about 6 months ago and have only flown it a couple of times. Everything about it is beautiful. I originally bought it for a dear friend who was a former pilot for United. He was an fsx guy from way back and I bought this for him to fly when he visited. The only reason I don't fly it regularly is because I don't know how to keep it running :). Sadly my friend past so until I get the chance to learn how to fly it on my own it will sit in the hanger. I am wondering however if there is an update and if so will they notify me?

I sure miss my pal Jimmy, he was the one who got me interested in siming, having alot of rw hours in this plane he loved it an commented on how accurate it was modeled and flew it like a dream.

cheers guys, just my two cents and a little story bout a much missed aviator and simer.

Scot,

curiously your experience is close to mine. The uncle of a coleague of mine was a former TAP captain, of the time of the DC3, DC6, Constellations... He flew the first Caravelle that server with TAP in the 60s !!!

When he retired he decided to learn informatics, got a teacher, and after a while he was installing MSFS.

The dc-3 was one of his preferred :-) but.

This captain is also no longer with us, but I am sure he would love to test this LES dc-3 :-)

It will stop running if you don't reduce throttle shortly (really shortly) after takeoff.  Too much stress on those old P&W radials!
