FSUIPC and FSInn - PTT Problem

Featured Replies

Hi there,

do not know whether I caught the right forum but have a issue with FsInn. Want to set my button on my yoke as PTT but do not know how to realize that with FSUIPC. I tried that by put the button in FSInn's Control Panel but nothing happened so I want to do it with FSUIPC. Tried to select there PTT(SB, V...) but it did not work. Do you know how does that work with FSUIPC and can you tell me?

And another question: Where can I see in FsInn, if I am pushing the PTT or not? Was actually a SB user so there was a light that illuminated when pushed the key. could not identify any light on FsInn. Is there one?

I am not at home so I cannot help until later tomorrow.  Have you read the FSINN Manual?

Here is how to set it up and how I have it on my system. .

1. Go into fsuipc. Click on the button tab. Press the button you want to use. This should bring up that button assignment in fsuipc. Select (don't remember what exactly it says) send key assignment to fs when pressed and select key press to repeat while held down. It will ask for a key to be pressed. Make sure when key press is released option does not continue to hold key down (pressed). I use the letter O. So now you should have fsuipc set up so that when you press the button on your yoke, it will send the command to press and hold the O key until you release the button.

Now go into fsinn. Go to the icon in the system tray that looks like a stop light. Go to the voice vatsim setting and) for key mapping. Look for PTT key press for the keyboard. Click set and then the letter O. You should be all set.

To verify, go into the main fsinn control panel, go to advanced, then select vvl button. Go to a controller frequency that has voice and connect to Jim. When you press your joystick button it should highlight in orange. Sometimes you have to click on and off the frequency twice to get connected to the voice server.

I've refreshed my memory after reading the manual under Sec 4.2.3.  What I've done is select VATSIM voice and selected the proper input and output devices.  Under Sec 4.2.3.2 I selected "FS PTTJoystick Button" after pressing "SET" I pressed a botton on my yoke and it was set and recognized in the UI.

If you do it this way there is no need to use FSUIPC.  If I remember correctly you must run both the FSFDT Control Panel and the INNUI in order to connect to VATSIM, see other traffic and comunicate.

Let us know how you make out.

Hi guys,

thank a lot. I tried a too difficult way. I have done it with FSUIPC, because I got the registered version so why not using it.

Is there an opportunity to not open VVL to check whether I am pressing key or not? Want not to open much windows on my screen. Is it possible to implement a light into control panel via options or something like that?

But thanks am now able to use my yoke.

Have you had an issue with the VVL panel open?  I wouldn't think this would cause any problem with FSX (frame rates, freezing, etc).  You can make it more trasparent if you want it to blend into the background a bit.

An option would be to turn up the Inband voice signal tone Volume in the Control Panel - VATSIM - Volumes section (last slider at the bottom).  This will play a tone when you key your mic.

Yes, I am flying at the moment and the panel does not bother so it is fine. But good to know the tips which you have given. Flying makes fun again. Thanks.

Glad that you got it sorted out.  I have read that VATSIM is working on a brand new pilot client that has huge potential, should be out within the year.

Read that, too. Do you mean this year? That would be amazing. Hope that they try to develop a feature that supports ATC actions for PMDG's 777. Nevertheless, looking forward to fly with a more advanced client.
