August 25, 201312 yr For what it's worth- A 64" (diagonal) monitor has a screen width of about 58" & height 34". (+or-) The B737 real world - main instrument panel (pillar to pillar) is 1515mm or about 60" wide and 17 1/2" high. What resolution would be needed to avoid graininess if such a monitor was positioned about 24" from the sim pilot's eyes? In a 2D triple views (Lfwd, fwd,Rfwd) arrangement, there would be NO monitor bezels and the pilot would have an uninterupted view of 135ºwith no zooming or panning needed! The views would touch each other and the instrument panel would be lifesize!! I wonder if triple monitors are about to become obsolete! january
August 25, 201312 yr Im thinking about getting 3 60" plasmas for my cockpit. They will be touching distance from the pilots seat. is that OK?
August 25, 201312 yr I really do want to be convinced. I'd really like to have a 6' screen, but I just can't see how I'd be satisfied with the resolution. August 25, 201312 yr They vidoes on youtube of home cockpit projectors look great and I cant see much graininess.
August 25, 201312 yr Author yes i was kind of disapponited with my dell s300 resolution, WXGA (1280 x 800) I could not see the dials properly in the VC and outside was a blurry mess! I then said to myself I will just have to wait it out for a short throw 1080p projector (it had to be short throw because i do not have the space for a normal projector) then this benq came out and honestly I am very satisfied with the resolution. this video is from my dell s300 http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=SXhba_b0Svg I7-10700F RTX 3070 32 Gig Ram
