Recently I've been in search for a good quality (visual and system, particularly VC) CT4 and PC9 trainer aircraft.  Does anyone have any suggestions?  I tried to look around but didn't seem to get too many positive returns.

The PC-9 comes as freeware from Iris. Just head to their site. I think it's still a decent plane and if you wanted to go faster and with a glass cockpit, they would also feature a paware PC-21.

Texan and PC9 certainly look very similar!  Might give the PC9 a go first

Just google CT4 Trainer. You'll find the choices. A payware version is only ten bucks.

yes,  the New Zealand Air force has an official fsx addon freeware for you...  it's a version of the one you can get for ten bucks.  the panel/vc isn't great,  but it flies decent and looks alright.  there are some repaints for it floating around as well.  I don't have it installed any more, flew it a few times,  it's OK.

Yea I saw the PCAviator one, but it doesn't look that good, I was hoping that there might be something more "updated"...

I have the payware CT-4 and can confirm it's not that good. Visual quality of the VC specially was not that good.

 

I had about 15Hrs in the real CT-4 at RAAF flight screening (see my pic - lol) when I bought that payware model,and was trying to replicate my flights. Flight model was also way off.

 

You have an interest in the RAAF I'm guessing?

Lol, it didn't look too appetising on the screenshots, so I wasn't even going to try.  I do have, trying to adjust to military planes rather than civ (although I still prefer the KC30s, C17s etc. over the F18s though ).  I have my YOU Sesh coming Thursday

 

So are you flying PC-9s now or F18s?

Not flying anything at the moment unfortunately. Did my FSP around 18 months ago. Due to go back and apply again soon.

Good luck with the YOU session. Don't stress too much, the hard stuff comes after that and it doesn't get really tough until you get to FSP.

Yea I was told to go try out for ATC which I'm quite happy about. So next one is additional testing for ATC lol
