September 3, 201312 yr First I can't find any A@A support forum on their home site? Second, the default virtual cockpit/panel view has the pilot viewpoint quite high. Only yhr top half of the first row of gauges is visible the remainder is the view from the windshield.. regards, Dick near Pittsburgh, USA
September 3, 201312 yr First, A2A support can be found here: http://a2asimulations.com/forum/index.php You can adjust the viewpoint to your liking using the "+" and "_" keys on your keyboard, also by panning.
September 3, 201312 yr Author Thanks for the link... I do the height adjustments. However, if I "reset to front view" it reverts to the oddly high view. I know I can fiddle the CFG viewpoint but is this default view common or I have something else wrong? regards, Dick near Pittsburgh, USA
September 3, 201312 yr Can you see engine cowling from VC? At that screenshot prop seems to be too close to cockpit. Lj. Prodanovic
September 3, 201312 yr That's closer to what you would really be looking at, for takeoffs & landings. I figure we'd need about six monitors, to capture everything we see with our peripheral vision. Problem is, you also loose some of the sensations of speed, when you can't see farther off to the sides. I admit, that I tend to zoom back, which could include the whole panel, and some cockpit windows on the sides. But for those takeoffs & landings, you better have your seats adjusted, or use a cushion....as the panel can't be covering half the outside view. I normally don't even have the panel in focus, once I'm focused on the runway. I usually use the shift Z functions for airspeed, as I don't try to read the animated gauges very often. BTW--- I don't currently have this aircraft.
September 3, 201312 yr Commercial Member This was very difficult to choose a single position since many users don't know how to easily map and configure the view point. This is actually low, as in the real 172, you can see part of the cowling over the dash. However, when you turn left in the 172, you subconsciously duck your head a bit to look out the window. So, we had to choose a position in between these two positions. On my setup, I have my keypad set to moving the camera, and just a few taps of the "9" key, my head comes up. However, you want to be consistent on whatever you do, especially on landing, as moving your viewpoint differently every landing means you may not establish good visual cues for your flare. Scott.
September 3, 201312 yr TrackIR fixes all of these problems, and is instantly adjustable, while showing the world from a r/w pilots perspective. I expect that "FaceNoir" - whatever it's called, will do the same thing. i7 | 32GB RAM | EVGA RTX 3080Ti | Maximus Hero VII | 512GB 860 Pro | 512GB 850 Pro | 256GB 840 Pro | 2TB 860 QVO | 1TB 870 EVO | Seagate 3TB Cloud | EVGA 1000 GQ | Win10 Pro | EK Custom water cooling.
September 3, 201312 yr Get EZdok and configure your VC and other cameras to your liking . . . and TrackIR works flawlessly with EZdok. JJ Jean-Jacques CYND, Gatineau-Ottawa Executive Airport, Gatineau, Quebec, Canada
September 3, 201312 yr The start view is great for me on TIR5 - in the warrior I always adjusted my seat as high as possible. | My Liveries | FAA ZMP | PPL ASEL | | Windows 11 | MSI Z690 Tomahawk | 12700K 4.7GHz | MSI RTX 4080 | 64GB 6000 MHz DDR5 | 500GB Samsung 860 Evo SSD | 2x 2TB Samsung 970 Evo M.2 | EVGA 850W Gold | Corsair 5000X | HP G2 (VR) / LG 27" 1440p |
