January 1, 201412 yr During the course even in the last two minutes of end of turn around my fuel load never started. Are you sure your current fuel state is less then what is required? --Peter Fabian
January 2, 201412 yr The wheel chocks are set. And based on my PFPX results, my flight required close to 107,000 lbs of fuel. That is the amount I requested for in plan fuel. Bilal Asif Khan
January 2, 201412 yr How much fuel was in the tanks of the 777 before you requested the fuel uplift?if it's 107,000lbs of fuel and you want to push back with 107,000 lbs of fuel and ask the fuel truck to come and fill the tanks to 107,000 lbs of fuel, the truck would have to upload 0 lbs of fuel which would take 0 minutes. So, how much fuel was in the tanks before you requested the fuel uplift? Trent Hopkinson, 2015 Crewmember of www.mangrove.com.au WorldFlight sim Youtube channel www.youtube.com/user/musicalaviator
January 2, 201412 yr I know that's the point - but the crew of the departing flight isn't going to be on the aircraft right at the start of the 1.5 hour turnaround (or potentially even the 55 minute turnaround) from what I understand, so arguably being able to come in half-way through (the 15 minutes left example is a bit extreme) wouldn't be unrealistic. Where I work the crew usually shows up about an hour before departure at the very latest so the FA's can set up the galleys, inspect the cabin/emergency equipment, and conduct a briefing with the flightdeck crew which is usually held in first class, boarding starts 40 minutes before departure (all wide bodies get 40 minutes to board and the 757 is the only narrow body in our fleet to receive 40 minutes, the narrow bodies get 30). Cabin service is usually long gone and catering is just wrapping up at the 1.5 hour mark but then again our planes sit on the ground for a few hours but that's just how things are done at one airline, it can vary between carriers.
