Import plan - Route Request?

Featured Replies

In the NGX I'm used to searching saved plans for the one I want.

Can't seem to do that with the T7.

Route Request does nothing - unless I am in RTE 2 - when it behaves just like the 737 and gives me a list of all my saved flight plans in PMDG/FLIGHPLANS/777.

I can get a saved plan in RTE 1 by typing it into co route and activating it.

Very odd - is the RTE 2 behaviour not meant to work also in RTE 1?

I've searched Intro/Tutorial/FCOMs and this forum to no avail.

Don't know why you are not seeing 20+ pages of CO ROUTES when you select ROUTE REQUEST, unless you have already entered ORIG DEST and there is not a route saved. Note that by entering just the ORIG you will only see routes for that location and entering also the DEST you only see routes for that city pair. I just checked it on my sim using a blank route, worked in RTE 1.

Dan, do my saved routes have to be in the ORIG/DEST format?  Cos mine are not.  They are e.g. AF123.

But oddly I still see the AF123 when I'm in RTE 2, so I doubt that's the issue.

Yeah, because it does filter based on ICAO so it is looking for that. This is not like the NGX, but the sim is like the real thing. Lots of subtle and not so subtle differences.

Thanks Dan, that fixed it.  If I Route Request BEFORE I fill in my ORIG then I see everything (including the routes not saved in ORIGDEST format) - once the ORIG is in it filters.

Like it!

What's the difference between these 2 options? Route Request vs Co Route? When would you use one over the other? I'm assuming you would used CO ROUTE, when you know the exact filename of your flight plan that you wanna use, and route request will show you all your routes in your folder and you can select one to load up?

Hi,

for the sim there is not much difference. But in real, the Co route allows to load a route that already is in the navigation database of the FMS.
Route request allows to request a route from your company dispatcher and download it to the FMS via the company datalink.
