Featured Replies

Hi PMDG:

IS T777 OFFICIALLY supported in DX10 - I would think not but anyway would like to know if there would be any issues if I was to go to DX10 - THANK YOU.

The intro manual says to turn it off.  I'm sure you can figure it out from there.

(Read the intro manual - it does the body good!)

The manual says turn it off because PMDG doesnt officially support DX10. But all my PMDG aircraft work great with it. Never had a problem except for the NGX once with the above mentioned dome light. But a reinstall of the NGX and it worked again.

Dx10 runs smoother for me, and looks alot better. And with Steves upcoming DXfixer, it should be a game changer.

Dx10 will also give you a few extra hundred MBs reduction in the VAS, which inturn reduces further the chance of OOMs

It should work fine - self-shadowing is not modeled due to limitations in how we do everything in the VC, but the NGX was that way too and it all worked fine.

For what it's worth, there's a thread I was helping with where DX10 ended up causing one of the armrests to go clear (and daylight sky blue) at night.  I had him turn off DX10 and it fixed it.

Ryan - Kyle - thanks Guys - Not trying to put you on the spot to much but wondering if this dx10 fixer would be a viable purchase for me as if it does not benefit T777 and it can only run in dx9 I would not be interested in the dx10 fix as I do not bounce back and fourth, its one or the other for me, to much work as it is.

Would PMDG look in again to DX10 after the steve DX10 fixer?

What do they need to re-look at? Ryan already said it should all work fine, if you're wanting to get self-shadowing I think this statement from Ryan "self-shadowing is not modeled due to limitations in how we do everything in the VC" implies it'd be a considerable amount of work just to have self-shadowing.

PMDG products might work in DX10, but most decent airport sceneries during the night don't.

The DX10 scenery fix is ready so DX10 is not an issue anymore  B)
