November 17, 200421 yr Chris, just curious, I know it was tested with Active Sky did anyone on your team try it with FSMeteo? If so were there any problems? If not I guess I'll be the guinea pig and let you know my findings.
November 17, 200421 yr There really shouldn't be any problems with any 3rd party weather apps afaik. I don't see why changing some textures would cuase any problems with them assuming the textures don't cuase any issues in terms of running the sim itself...

November 17, 200421 yr Indeed.I bought (not dear) Fs Roads UK,a nd now with this weather add on teh sim is taking a new life!We seem to be quiet for a while and then giant steps happen.I have insatlled Fs SkyWorld, and am not sure if I am getting it or not!!One boot had half screen window with great clouds and rest of splash screen in background! Both flickering!Early days yet and I will get into the manual and see what to do.Still, a wonderful add on, so big thanks.
November 17, 200421 yr Just downloaded Sky World and the new framerate-friendly textures that complement it. Only one choice to make: which size, 128x128 or 256x256? Currently, I'm using Chris Willis's Hifpsv2 cloudset, and as that seems to work pretty well, I figured I'd start with that. Trouble is, I don't know how big _those_ clouds were. Does anyone know? 128x128 or 256x256?
November 18, 200421 yr The V2 set is 64X64.Hope this helps,JimActiveSky Supporthttp://www.hifisim.com/images/as2004proudsupporter.jpg

November 18, 200421 yr Farlis, "You put all payware vendors to shame with that release. Outstanding!"It only show there is some payware developper should be freeware, they only works for $. fs sky world 2004 beat some payware hands downs.BestEric
November 18, 200421 yr I have read the manual but not installed, and have a couple of questions:1. I am still very confused about the various cloud sets. I currently run HIFPSV2 and am happy with it.The manual first states that the cloud types in FS Sky World are default FS 2004 performance. It then goes on to mention that one can DOWNLOAD FSWHIFPS.zip to improve peformance. Where would one place those textures? How does one select them? Do they eliminate the default FS Skyworld clouds that are default performance? Or are they ADDED to all the other sets [see below] and if so why not include them in the first place? It also goes on to say that in somewhat of a contradiction that FS Skyworld also contains the altered sets HIFPSV2 and HIFPS. How does one select/identify them [not clear from the included screen shots]? How are they different from the downloadable FSWHIFPS set?2. Somebody said they had to reinstall all of FS 9 because of damaged files during use of or install of FS Skyworld. Someone in reply said read the whole manual! Could you be more specific about what could lead to need to reinstall all of FS 9 [ I see several warninings later in the manual].I am excited to try this out. Thanks, Greg Greg Clark
November 18, 200421 yr Author I have read all the instructions and I can't find fs2004weatheradvanced settings(or whatever,I'm at my office).Anyway,I can't find where in FS to install the clouds per the instructions.I did run the install program etc.Where am I missing the advanced settings button? Thanks,Ron Bring back Chief Illiniwek!University of Illinois.
November 18, 200421 yr Hi,The advanced settings are used when you are setting up your own weather in FS04. You don't install from there, just set up the clouds and the layers. Much easier ways are using online weather or 3rd party weather.Hope this helps,JimActiveSky Supporthttp://www.hifisim.com/images/as2004proudsupporter.jpg
November 18, 200421 yr Technically speaking, I don't think theres likely anything in FS Skyworld that could mess up the sim to such a degree that a reinstall would be necessary. I think often people are a bit too quick to push the "reinstall button". All the add-on does is manipulate textures.
November 18, 200421 yr Author But when reading his instructions itlooks like the first time I have to go to advanced setting and add his 2 cloud levels. Then use the installation program after that.Do I not need to do this?Just use his install program? Thanks,Ron Bring back Chief Illiniwek!University of Illinois.
November 18, 200421 yr You may be referring to a post where someone lost their 2D panel and thought they'd have to reinstall. However, as the manual points out, Shift-1 restores the panel. And that can only happen if you load a situation file. If you just use it to swap textures, I don't see how anything could get so damaged as to require a reinstall. If needed, there's an option to re-load the stock FS9 textures
November 18, 200421 yr Just use the install button. What do you use for your weather?Hope this helps,JimActiveSky Supporthttp://www.hifisim.com/images/as2004proudsupporter.jpg
