November 17, 200421 yr I would like to get this but in using ActiveSky 4.5, I want what the AS wx engine calls for and not be limited to particular cloud sets. If say for example AS calls for Stratus clouds and you don't have a cloud set that has that in there, then what? Something entirely different gets displayed or nothing at all? I for sure don't want that to happen. Is there a way around this with the FS Skyworld program or no? If not, I guess I will be sticking with the default stuff. Eric
November 17, 200421 yr Hi Eric,No need to be concerned. ActiveSky will only use what you have currently installed in your texture folder. I imagine you already have stratus clouds in this folder whether by default or by third party. FS Sky World 2004 just allows you to ring the changes to your heart's content and is fully compatible with ActiveSky2004.5I suggest you back up your Flight Simulator 9texture folder and experiment until you are satisfied. You can always reinstate it at any time but I'm willing to wager you will be deleting it pretty smart quick once you see what Chris has created for us all!Mike
November 17, 200421 yr You'll always have some form of texture for each of the different types of clouds the sim can display - whether it be a texture provided by FS Skyworld or whatever texture you already have in you're texture folder.
November 17, 200421 yr Hi Chris,Lots of thanks. You did it again. I've been enjoying FSW since the beginning. And every time you come up with a new version you've made our hobby more enjoyable. :-jumpyJ.J.JJ StruyfBraine-L'AlleudBelgiumhttp://jdtllc.com/images/RCsupporter.jpg Jean-Jacques Struyf between EBBR and EBCI
November 17, 200421 yr TO CHRIS !!!!I've just had to break away from my first test flight using your FS Sky World 2004. I am almost speechless - this has truly transformed my sim !I am in awe !! It is work like this that brings so much more pleasure to our hobby than can be summed up on a post like this, but reckon you're getting the picture !!Just truly, utterly magnificent work (and freeware too).THANKYOU VERY MUCH INDEED....Best Regards,Eddy(North Wales - UK):-beerchug
November 17, 200421 yr Ok, I for some reason am not understanding how to get this program to work. I have read the manual and still don't quite get it. I understand I am to pick one cumulus cloud set, one cirrus cloud set and a sky color and then finally a misc choice. That is unless I select "Random" whereupon I presume the program will select 1 texture set from each category. However when you hit the install button, it says a random cloud texture will be installed. What about the sky color and misc category? I then must do this each time FS is started correct? I guess we cannot permanently pick a runway lights set we want and then have radom textures picked each time for the clouds? Also in the manual, it says to go into FS to install cloud layers and the textures. I am using AS4.5, do we have to do this if we are using that program? I wish there was a way we could just pick the textures we like, install them in FS9/texture and be done with it instead of doing this everytime. Eric
November 17, 200421 yr >>I wish there was a way we>could just pick the textures we like, install them in>FS9/texture and be done with it instead of doing this>everytime.Who said you have to do it everytime?. This program just replaces textures which stay the same UNTIL you want to change them. I don't know why you are trying to complicate things which are very simple.Michael J.WinXP-Home SP2,AMD64 3500+,Abit AV8,Radeon X800Pro,36GB Raptor,1GB PC3200,Audigy 2 Michael J.
November 17, 200421 yr Commercial Member Hi, Random only select one ramdom clouds set"it says to go into FS to install cloud layers and the textures. I am using AS4.5, do we have to do this if we are using that program? "Read page 6 Step A to step E, if you are using 3rd party generator, only select one cumulus set, one cirrus set and others texture from your choice, close fs sky world 2004 and start active sky everything will be finePs: Stratus are included in cumulus setThanksChris Willis[link:fsw.simflight.com/FSWMenuFsSim.html]Clouds And Addons For MsFs Kind RegardsChris Willis

November 17, 200421 yr Dear Chris,WOW!Well, I guess you see you're making this old guy sound like a kid! I held off a long time before buying AS2004.5, and then thought it was just fantastic -- it's that whole new feeling again. I just can't tell you how some of us applaud a freeware designer like yourself. You and others like yourself who unselfishly give of your time and effort for others in this hobby is what makes this such a great pastime.Carry on Sir!Best to you and yoursClayhttp://www.dreamfleet2000.com/gfx/images/F...ers/Dopke01.jpgClayton T.
