September 8, 201312 yr Ok, just my 2 cents... ( parem com essa merda! ..da-se... ) which, in good portuguese means: - Guys, you're all great budies, I like to read your posts, you like to read each-other posts from time to time, we all like being able to be here and share this space to discuss what we ( honestly we shouldn't... ) give the most of our daily thoughts and dreams to - Aviation and, specifically, flight simulation! ( see...? portuguese is a very syntectic language, and we can express a long sentence in just a few beautiful words sometimes :-) ) So, let's forget about whatever happened here ( did anything happen worth the bother? ) and ENJOY two of the greatest products recently released for one of our preferred flight simulation platforms - PMDG's 777 and A2A's C172 :-) The rest is CAT... it sometimes can be annoying, but it goes away after a while... ;-) Oops... there's that Google tanslator, I'm banned  Flying gliders since 1980 Flightsimming since 1992 AMD Ryzen 5600x, 32GB RAM, GPU Nvidia RTX 3060 Ti 8 GB, 1 TB and 500 GB nvme2 SSD drives, HP 27" 60Hz LED monitor @ 1920x1080, T16000, Hotas from old X52 Pro, Saitek Combat Rudder Pro (2010 model)
September 8, 201312 yr No hard feelings to anyone. Truth is I really cannot do conflict..... genuinely, this stuff, petty as it is, has kept me awake at night. Conflcit is conflict. and yes, I batted back as hard as I could.... I will walk, and I hope that this nonsense can be ended - the rest of AVSIM, us three aside, don't deserve to spend their free time having to read posts like the last few. Blue skies ladies gents. What I do..... I get myself upset, as I'll often get into these arguments, in which there is often several sides, with supported views on each side. For instance, GPS versus old school, & so on. At that point, I'm so "ticked", that I'll just leave the forums for three or four days, and not read anything connected with them. Having accounts deleted might feel good for the moment, but usually won't have the same satisfying effect in the long run.
September 8, 201312 yr @JComm: Do you have any insight into how to calibrate or sensitize the flight surface axises on your controllers for most authentic effect? It's been repeatedly mentioned that the plain old default controller sensitivities are not going to suffice, but I'm hesitant to just "wing it" according to personal tastes. I want to feel the plane as A2A designed it, not as I interpret it, but I haven't seen any guidance on this. The only thing I did so far, and has proved to be very helpful ( no more of those pitch ups on takeoff... ) was to calibrate my pitch, yaw and roll, as well as the left / right toe brakes axis through FSUIPC. September 8, 201312 yr ...... wow, some people....... and still he goes on. I'm pretty sure you won't be banned King Ghidorah. So relax, and have fun. Q400 I hope you do not go, just set your profile to ignore their posts. You are a big part of this community and it would be sad to see you go. I think you have conducted yourself very well indeed and I sincerely hope you will not leave because of this. :( Lee

Obviously, it's going to be difficult to carry on as if we didn't just go through a trainwreck, but I'll at least try. When you say you "calibrated" through FSUIPC, what response curve did you use (a numerical value, as we know, -15 to 15 I think) for the ailerons, elevators, and rudder? I know that the brakes need to be linear, without any curve. I find it a little odd that a plane would require a curve in any of the primary control axises without A2A being more specific about what their recommendations are. Also, I know you are a big DCS user, so are you using a Thrustmaster Warthog? I have one, but I am using a Saitek yoke and pedals for GA aircraft, so I'm going to have to take that into account with any suggestions you might have.
September 8, 201312 yr @KingGhidorah: Well, I have just a Saitek X52 Pro and the Saitek Rudder, plus a Saitek Cyborg X I use for prop and mixture axis and a few more functions through it's buttons. Sometimes the C172 reminds me of when I started flying the p51d in DCS :-) Regarding the FSUIPC calibration, I used: Aileron : Slope = 2 Elevator: Slope = 3 Rudder : Slope = 2 The other friend I mentioned decided to disable all axis in FS and define them all through FSUIPC, and not just calibrating them. He finds it provided an even better solution. I might try this too, but it may interfere with some sophisticated add-ons, namely the Aerosoft AXE (?) September 8, 201312 yr Thx UlfB, I'll try to find out how to create FSUIPC profiles then :-) Flying gliders since 1980 Flightsimming since 1992 AMD Ryzen 5600x, 32GB RAM, GPU Nvidia RTX 3060 Ti 8 GB, 1 TB and 500 GB nvme2 SSD drives, HP 27" 60Hz LED monitor @ 1920x1080, T16000, Hotas from old X52 Pro, Saitek Combat Rudder Pro (2010 model)
September 8, 201312 yr To the OP. Did you check the winds at time of take off? Just and idea. I have found the C172 quite sensitive to wind just like the Cub. Had some interesting cross wind landings already. Also at one airport there was a significant updraft since the end of the runway was basically a cliff. I have found the trim adjustments very small with the C172. B. MY FLIGHT SIM BLOG http://deskpilot518.blogspot.com/ Proud supporter of Intercity Airways, visit www.ViaIntercity.com
