RAAS not working

Featured Replies

I do not hear RAAS announcements when i approach a runway. I have tried the suggestions in the introductory manual. I made sure there was a runways.csv file in my root directory and I also downloaded and ran the Makerwys application but still there's silence when I expect t o hear a RAAS announcement. Any suggestions from you guys would be appreciated.

Make sure you have RAAS enabled in the options menu accessed through the FMC.

Cheers,

Some liveries have it disabled in the FMC options due to the airlines normal configuration (e.g. FedEx livery). You can set it there or in the ops center IIRC.

does the pmdg 777 include the RAAS system?

If you can´t read it, you can´t fly it. Real world B777F pilot

Support for the actual RAAS system gets directed to FS2Crew - we're using their system in the 777.

Yes I made sure of this. It would have been very silly of me to forget that bit. I tried liveries that by default have RAAS installed. I also went to the FMC menu and made sure it was enabled. Still complete silence anytime I am near or on a runway.

Okay, do I need to repost this on their forums?

First, check the Trouble Shooting section in the on-line RAAS manual:

http://www.support.fs2crew.com/help/manuals/#pageid=other_products

Also make sure you run "Make Runways" as described in the manual.

If you don't run Make Runways, RAAS may not know where your runways are.

There are no RAAS entries to my DLL.xml. Please what does this mean?

There are no RAAS entries to my DLL.xml. Please what does this mean?

It means due to a write permission issue the installer was not able to add the required RAAS entries to your DLL.xml file.

Please ensure UAC (User Account Control) is 100 percent off.

Then re-install or try adding the entries manually as shown here:
