Two years on and no BBJ and ER models; not a peep.

They've kinda been working on this thing called a 777.

As far as we know they're trying to fix some bugs from the initial release of the T7 at the moment before they evaluate further development schedules (i.e. 777-300ER, 777-200ER, 737-900ER, etc).

Thanks, but I have followed these forums for years and I can still read the material okay.  If PMDG are going to advertise on developing the full series, then some of us are looking for follow-through on that "promise."

Huh?  If they announced a BBJ (and I believe they said they would).... and it's not here...  why shouldn't people be able to freely question it?  Not everyone wants a B777...

The team just released the T7 and there are currently some users that are experiencing some issues with it and some of the staff is devoting their time to resolving those issues as they should be.

PMDG has a pretty fantastic track record of delivering on their promises in spectacular fashion, even if it isn't as timely as some would like it to be.

What gets old around here is the 30 posts a day of people asking what about this aircraft now? When will it be done?

Development of products, and testing of said products takes years and for good reason. It seems that each time PMDG releases a new product that they find a way to raise the bar on the quality and overall depth of the simulation for users. The NGX blew people's minds and the T7 has done it over again.

They could go ahead and just modify the NGX into the 739ER model and release it without adding any new features and maybe some of you would be happy, but many others would not be pleased with it not having some of the new features that are in the T7. All that coding to put in those new features and modify them for the airframe takes time and then more time for testing before it's released.  (It's also worth mentioning that the ER is just barely being delivered to the real airlines and knowing PMDG they'd like to have some performance data on the ER before working on it.)

PMDG doesn't announce when projects will be done until they're ready to make an announcement, so what's the point of asking? At most you'll get the canned "It's in the works" response. If they said they are going to do something, then they'll do it. Until then, go outside and enjoy life or fly something else.

1. Any new products in the line are paid products. Acting like the NGX products that exist aren't complete because an additional paid addon hasn't been developed yet is nonsense. We did not promise you would get free 900ERs or BBJs or anything even remotely like that.

2. We said we would evaluate doing these variants as the life of the product continued - it was not a "promise" or a guarantee.

Sorry, I meant this thread to be a Delta -900WL livery thread. Totally forgot that the NGX 900s are the non-ER models, which answers my question. After seeing a pic of a brand new one on A.net I guess I got overly exited.

Please feel free to close/lock the thread.....didn't mean to start a troll-fest!

Obvious question: Are you at this time still planning to add the -900ER, BBJ or any other variant (e.g. Neptune*)? If so, would you be willing to disclose at which priority?

I don't want anything free, I'd expect to pay market value plus according to PMDG's track record.  Perhaps my use of "promise" isn't the best selection of words, but I can say that the NGX marketing/hype at the time gave a distinct product plan that inferred this addition.

PMDG has a tendency to think out loud a bit too much (A320, Dash8, now the DC-6?) and inferring extensions to product line does raise false hopes.  Many of us have watched this company since 1997, so we pay attention.
