Blocks of Night Textures Missing in MSE CA

Featured Replies

I recently purchased MSE CA N,S,C. When flying at night I noticed that there are blocks of night textures missing. I have changed priority and deactivated other scenery to try to see if there is a conflict with no result. Any ideas?

Yes, I reported this soon after the release of California.  I was able to fix the areas around LAX and South by enabling my MegaSceneryX SoCal scenery.  I placed it above the MSE stuff in the Scenery Library.  Hoping this will be fixed when they release night lighting for all of the MSEV2 scenery.

Best regards,

Jim

Thanks Jim, I have thought of this as well and will implement this until a fix is found. I am glad I am not the only one reporting the issue

Project Manager says this is known, and that when the night lighting packages are released, this problem will be solved.

Any update on where to obtain the fix or when the fix will be available? I have noticed this issue in many of the other MSE sceneries I own.

Like to know too, having the MSE night experience nationwide should be awesome.

I'm thinking the night patch is low on the priority list, HighRes cities seem to be the emphasis now, not a problem (Hope DFW comes out soon.) What happened to Europe? work on MSEing European countries seems to have stopped.

Uh, change 1 since September of last year:  According to their latest manual (page 15), it won't be happening - http://www.megasceneryearth.com/files/MegaSceneryEarth_Product_Manual_Installation_Guide.pdf.  The default night lighting or a commercial product like Ultimate Terrain is all we will see.

Any suggestions on a product to add night lighting I use MSE and have the same problem, lighting is all I really need from the I used Ultimate Terrain USA in FS9 Had issues with roads being in water is UTX better?

Ken Heibel

I may try it out.  I did not reinstall it.  As I recall lighting was a fps killer.  If I do reinstall it, the night lighting will be all that I turn on.  Do not think the roads would show up through MSE but you can turn them off if you don't like them.  That's a good thing about the product as you can turn on only what you need.  Roads may need to be turned on though so it can produce the night lighting.

Thanks for the replys. I am not sure that we are talking about the same thing. I am not talking about night lighting like what is in UTX or ORBX. I'm talking about the night textures that MCE supplies itself. In some cases the night lighting just ends abruptly and starts over in another area.

I am trying to link a screenshot of the problem. Hopefully this works in order to illustrate the issue I am having.

Make a flight at midnight and see if any of the textures show. My guess is that they won't and what you are seeing is FSX making the transition to full night texturing.

Thanks, I will try that.

EDIT:

Well I tried the suggestion and it did not help. I tried intervals of two hours and it did not make a difference.

If by MCE you meant MSE, then that is an easy answer. We do not provide any night lighting with MegaSceneryEarth 2.0 products, for numerous reasons, much the sames as with why photoscenery on massive scales does not have multiple seasons either. You can read why this is the case in the PDF manual Firehawk linked to above. Hope that helps.
