Blue Sky Scenery

Featured Replies

I was wondering  if anyone has tried this scenery. I am thinking about getting Califonia, but I don't know if to go with this one or with Megascenery 2.0.   Is Blue Sky High Deffinition? Does it has Autogen? How does it compares with Megascenery 2.0?

Does not have autogen, but the high def ones (you have to look, they have both) for FSX are rather nice. You can always add your own autogen if you have the FSX SDK installed with the annotator. Since Bluesky is free, d/l an area, if you don't like it get the megascenery one.

Actually it does have some autogen, it depends on the area, but no where near default FSX. However it looks so good you probably wont notice its missing

I like Blue Sky Scenery in the areas where I have it, which is the west coast between LA and San Francisco, some parts of which come with autogen, and in Nevada, where the lack of autogen is not really recognizable - and the desert around Las Vegas looks stunning with it.

I would really recommend you to try this absolutely stunning freeware first, because not everyone is into photoscenery, so you can see if you like this kind of scenery, and then you can still move on to payware if you wish to.

I will get it and install California. Appreciate everyones input.

I like it and use it extensively around California where I know the landscape from RW flying.  The only shortcoming for me is the Sierras where it is predominently wooded.  I leave it at FSX default.  The deserts and Central Valley and coastline are all BlueSky for me.  If Orbx ever releases a California done like Pacific PNW then I'd probably switch but otherwise BlueSky is a fantastic resource.

I have Sim Savvy, which has issues with water masking (it doesn't have it). Can I overlay BSS coast portions to eliminate that problem? Wondering if anyone tried that to fix the water issue in SS.

Thanks!
