September 18, 201312 yr Hi, it may have been discussed before... I run FSX acceleration in win 7 64 if I try to load a flight at Chicago KORD or Meigs FSX just does not respond I get the spinning circle. If I try to fly into KORD from elsewhere FSX crashes. Is there anything I can do to be able to use the Chicago airports. Phil Phil Broadhurst http://www.precisionmanuals.com/images/forum/pmdg_trijet.jpg
September 18, 201312 yr Not sure why you're having the problem. I have Win7 64 and routinely fly out of KORD. First with the default airport and now with FSDT. Are you uing a third party version addon of KORD or Meigs? Perhaps contact their support fourm if so.

September 18, 201312 yr Author But I am lol. I've even uninstalled any add on scenery for Chicago and I still get it. I don't think I'm the only one either. Does anyone have any advice on this? Phil Phil Broadhurst http://www.precisionmanuals.com/images/forum/pmdg_trijet.jpg
September 18, 201312 yr Are you using any FSDT add-ons?Try to see if you get the crash as well in other locations where FSDT has got sceneries available for. Such as KLAX, KJFK, KFLL, PHNL. Check the crash report in Windows Event Viewer. If the faultmodule is MSVCR80.dll then it is related to the add-on manager and it can only be resolved by reinstalling SP2 of FSX. Arjen Vandervelde
September 18, 201312 yr You need to download and run AppCrashView which interprets the Event Viewer crashes and the Microsoft dot wer crashes - http://www.nirsoft.net/utils/app_crash_view.html. Please paste a copy of the crash report (lower pane) here for analysis. Are you using any FSDT add-ons? OP indicated he has uninstalled all addons and still gets the crashes so it's not the FSDT Addon Manager. Best regards, Jim Jim Young | AVSIM Online! - Simming's Premier Resource! September 19, 201312 yr Author Hi Guys, Thanks for all your replies and advice. Just bear with me please as I am carrying out a full format and reinstall of Win7 and FSX. I'll report back when I've reinstalled. Thanks again and best regards Phil Phil Broadhurst http://www.precisionmanuals.com/images/forum/pmdg_trijet.jpg
September 27, 201312 yr This happens to me with PANC. I found if I load the program BEFORE setting the correct Zulu time in the FSX start up window, it usually loads, slowly, but it doesn't freeze up. I have no ides why, but it seems to work. April 12, 201412 yr I am having the same crash to desktop issue as well. I am a simple novice with scenery. I have addon scenery for other areas but not ohare. Whether I load from kord or fly into, it crashes no matter what.

Did you reinstall the AddonManager if you have FSDT scenery? Did you uninstall FSX SP2 and then reinstall FSX SP2 (if applicable). You need to provide more information. If you have time sync'd under the Misc tab in the FSUIPC module, make sure it is unticked/disabled. Best regards, Jim Young | AVSIM Online! - Simming's Premier Resource! April 12, 201412 yr Dont have any fsdt scenery that im aware of nor app managers. I use acceleration so Im not sure how to uninstall and reinstall sp2. As i dont yet have the money to purchase a key for fsuipc4 i cannot find the parts of it you mention that may be the issue. so far kord is the only airport i have a problem with this issue.
April 12, 201412 yr so far kord is the only airport i have a problem with this issue. We at AVSIM try to help those having issues. It is very difficult to tell you exactly what is wrong with the very limited information you have provided. This is one reason why AVSIM came up with a CTD Guide that helps you troubleshoot your issues plus it provides many solutions to many problems. April 13, 201412 yr ok here is from appcrash viewer if nothing on here can help let me know because then im going to uninstall all of my addons and delete them to start from scratch and go through the steps in that guide thank you for pointing me to it it is extremely comprehensive. AppHang's are difficult to troubleshoot but it could be your ATI display drivers. Did you recently install updated drivers? You do not need to uninstall FSX. Renaming your Fsx.cfg to fsx.orig and then restarting FSX fixes many problems as you may have a bad parameter or tweak. Disabling all of your addon scenery, running FSX and seeing if the problem still exists will let you know if there is a scenery addon causing the problem. Disabling any modules in your dll.xml will also give you a quick idea whether it is a module causing the crash. The AVSIM CTD Guide has several suggestions for fixing freezes/apphangs. Hope this helps. Best regards, Jim Young | AVSIM Online! - Simming's Premier Resource! April 13, 201412 yr thanks for all of the info going to try dissabling my addon scenery first, and then with the cfg file. ok so disabling my scenery did it i have a feeling it has something to do with a terrain mesh that i added for new zealand. not sure why but none of the other packages ive added use a new mesh so ill start with that one. thanks for all of the help, ill just have to figure out which item it is and only turn it on when i want to use it.
