September 19, 201312 yr I'll never go back to Dx9. Dx10 is so smooth its crazy. I tried 2 days ago but decided to go back to Dx9 because of the shimmering. Did a little more reading and found out that I can get the same 8x AA by adding MultiSamplesPerPixel=8 to the fsx.cfg file. After doing that the shimmering was gone and the graphics looked just as good as dx9. I have frames set to unlimited and have it capped at 30 in Radeonpro. I'm averaging 25-30 fps and its smooth as a baby's butt  . Only problem I have encountered so far are little black squares on the ground but they disappear after a while, and I cant use my FXAA injector anymore. Oh I also have bloom on and not noticeable loss in frame rate BTW I'm running an ivy brigde i5 with an ati 7770 with a few tweaks via radeonpro. Only tweak I have in fsx.cfg file is highmemfix=1 and MultiSamplesPerPixel=8
September 19, 201312 yr Do you use FTXG? I tried DX10 with the DX10 fix, but went back to 9 due to the black squaeres when enabling vector lightning withing FTXG. I know theres a workaround by disabling the FTXG lighning, but for me, those lights are very important as it makes nightflying a lot more enjoyable. I will be waiting for Steves new DX10 program which I will instantbuy as I >think< it will fix those lights as well:-) Ryzen 7 9800X3D || MSI RTX 5090 Gaming Trio OC 32GB || G.Skill TridentZ 32GB@6000CL32 || Asus ROG Strix B650E Kingston Fury 4TB M.2 NVMe || Phanteks Glacier One 360 T30 v2 || Phanteks NV5 || BeQuiet Straight Power 1200W LG C4 42'' 4k@144hz || Oculus Quest 3 || Turtle Beach Velocity One

Another thing I had some problems with scenerys (EKCH) that would include CITY area and then on top of that FTXG. This would conflict but having reduced Autogen and trees pr cell to 1500 in fsx.cfg did the trick for me . Love DX10 :-)
September 19, 201312 yr Yes I am using FTX Global. I havent done any flying at night with dx10 yet but that is not a deal breaker since the dx10 fixer should be out soon. Here are my radeon pro settings. Everything is done in radeonpro and not CCC. Also screenshots of the little black squares. This was my approach into mexico xtreme from taxi2gate Your screenshots were removed by an admin because of the size so I can't see them, but I really think those are the FTX Global black squares. This will be fixed with the upcoming release (any day now) by Steve's DX10 Fixer. I really recommend looking in to that, it makes DX10 even better than what you are now experiencing. Mark
September 19, 201312 yr I have no idea why they were removed as I've seen very large pics posted to this forum lol. I will definitely be investing in that fixer when it comes out. Hopefully sooner than later

Hopefully sooner than later There is a temporary fix for the FTX Global black squares, but with that you remove the night lighting. For that you need to rename 1 file (look in the ORBX forum here on AVSim for the specific file, cant remember). When the fixer comes out you can rename it back again, to turn lighting on. The black squares are the result of DX10 incompatible lights in FTX Global, which will be fixed by the upcoming DX10 fixer. Mark

Hopefully sooner than later large pictures have to be hosted elsewhere. when you see a large picture here, the only thing posted in the forums is a BBcode link to an image site. you can't post the actual pic. for example: you can see the pic because of the bbcode, but it's actually hosted on http://fsfiles.org/flightsimshotsv2/ but I haven't loaded down the Avsim forum with the file.
