What fps to be expected with this system ( when using PMDG 777 )

Featured Replies

Hi there!

Thinking about upgrading to a better performing system, as the 777 is much more heavy on my system than the NGX.

There is a company on the market that customises PCs for FSX ( especially in regard to overclocking ).

Here are the specs:

Intel i7 3570K @ 4.2GHz

Asus Z77 Intel Board

Nvidia GTX770 2GB ( no OC )

Corsair 16GB DDR-3

2 Samsung SSDs

800W

Windows 7 64bit home premium

As the pricing is kind of heavy as well ( around 1700€ ), I´d like to ask which fps are probably to be expected with the PMDG 777.

I intend to apply "Word Not Allowed´s" settings, use third party scenery´s, ASE with REX textures, NO TRAFFIC AT ALL.

Regards

Hard to answer. 12-30fps assuming your locked at 30fps?

The scenery plays a huge part in it. If I were starting again I would only buy Low impact scenery/airports

Hi.

I don't think you need better spec.

I am having 20-30 frames and don't have performance problems both with 777 and ngx.

Pls. check for yourself:

AFAIK, home premium doesn't support 16 GB RAM (max is 8 GB). For 16 GB you'll need professional, I assume.

You'll be set for the T7 with 8 GB, fps are not a problem, the challenge is to balance your settings so you do not run out of VAS. (It's a challenge for all of us, with any system!)

As mentioned, you can never guarantee you won't OOM, in fact this will occur most often for those with the best specs because they can run at the highest detail level and so will always be closer to the VAS limit. That PC has great specs, I have the same processor but less/worst of everything else and I get (to me) acceptable FPS with the T7. If anything I'd suggest building the PC yourself to save money, you could easily reduce that price by 1/4 by finding the best deals for individual components. Also you can easily push the 3570K past 4.2GHZ if you get a good chip, mine idles around 35c at 4.2GHZ on air so you can really push it. The 3570K only needs bumping in voltage really once you overclock past 4.4GHZ but like all Ivy's it does get hot quickly so investing in a top end cooler or even water cooling will give you more performance value than for example a more expensive CPU.

very well put! I never thought of it like that, makes a lot of sense.

Hi all , based on the tutorial setup I get on the ground 55fps in Male and about 35 fps in Dubai with unlimited fps set ( this is using for both airports the payware software mentioned in the tutorials) and with the usage of REX. FSX Configuration is exactly as per PMDG guide and is running on a fresh FSX install and fresh install of Win 7 64 bit ultimate. Absolutely no FSX. Cfg tweak, apart from the ones mentioned in the PMDG guide. My system is i7 4770 k at 4.3 ghz, 660 ti and 8 gb ram. Have fun everyone

WIN 11 - MSFS 2020, 24 - X-plane 12

9800x3d - ZOTAC OC - RTX 4080 - 4K

Windows 7 64b Home Premium has a memory limit of 16Gb not 8Gb(that's the Basic edition).

Like the people say, it's impossible to say the fps you will get, it depends on what other add-ons you run.

Nice flights!

PD: Sorry for my bad english

My current specs are as follows:

AMD X2 6000+

4GB RAM

nvidia 8800GT 1GB

WIN7 64bit home premium

I hope, the step towards the mentioned system is a giant leap...

It will be a giant leap!  But you'll still need to think a little about where you can dial back sliders in order to get kind of performance you may want.
