On the "MENU" page. It happens when I do a quick traffic circuit, with the 777 on the runway with engines running. First FO action in this case is "RWY entry procedure". So, the FO did'nt touch anything on the FMC prior to the descent flow. Regards, Tim

No vref / Display select PNL
Hi! Due to whatever reason, the FO will not select vref during his descent flow. Instead, he is stuck somewhere on his FMC using the Display select PNL function, thus, Display select PNL is shown on the upper EICAS. The rest of the descent flow is completed normally, all succeeding checklists are not affected. Regards, Tim

No pushback...?!
Really disappointed there's no longer a pushback-option included in the 777 Edition! Major drawback compared to the NGX! This means another month-long wait and additional expense ( well, not the case for me: wouldn't purchase...! ). Not amused at all! Tom

Problems with nvidia inspector after driver update
Today I've updated to 344.11. I choose the expressinstallation, in order to retain my preferences and settings. Everything went fine. However: Before, I was using the nvidia inspector settings as defined by "Word Not Allowed". Everything was fine with the previous nvidia driver, nice and smooth anti alliasing. With the updated driver, there seems to be the problem, that none of the profile settings work anymore in FSX. The "Word Not Allowed profile" is still available within nvidia inspector and still allocated to fsx. But I seem to be unable to apply the settings to FSX: - no AA at all...! Any thoughts on that? I tried to enable AA within FSX, which works, but it isn't by far as smooth as the Word Not Allowed-setup. As the Word Not Allowed-setup AA is not working in FSX, I presume, that all other settings within that set are not applied to FSX at all as well... Best regards Tom

Keyboard screwed up after a while
Hi there! I´m facing a strange problem: Almost any time I run FSX ( mostly using PMDG ) I observe the keyboard is not responding after a while. Either it is not responding at all, or the assigned commands are mixed up. E.g. "F7" is assigned to "Flaps extension". However, in some cases "F7" is either not responding any more, or it selects commands, which are not assigned to the key? Sometimes, the keyboard is not responding even after FSX is shut down... CTRL Key sets Soft-Mute unintentionally
Dear Team! I´m using FS2CREW voice edition for the PMDG737NGX. I´m having two issues: 1.) when pushing either CTRL Key, FS2CREW momentarily selects "SOFT MUTE", which is confirmed in the FS2CREW Status Window as well ( red "M" ). I seem to be unable to unselect CTRL in FSX settings menu for "soft mute". 2.) FS2CREW is not remembering Regional settings ( US / UK / EU ). Everytime I start FSX / FS2CREW, "US" is selected. Also, I always have to select my Headset within the CFG Menu... Any suggestions on that? Best regards Toto

Hi there! Thinking about upgrading to a better performing system, as the 777 is much more heavy on my system than the NGX. There is a company on the market that customises PCs for FSX ( especially in regard to overclocking ). Here are the specs: Intel i7 3570K @ 4.2GHz Asus Z77 Intel Board Nvidia GTX770 2GB ( no OC ) Corsair 16GB DDR-3 2 Samsung SSDs 800W Windows 7 64bit home premium As the pricing is kind of heavy as well ( around 1700€ ), I´d like to ask which fps are probably to be expected with the PMDG 777. I intend to apply "Word Not Allowed´s" settings, use third party scenery´s, ASE with REX textures, NO TRAFFIC AT ALL. Regards T. Hermann

Just found out that this issue has been reported already, more than once only. One example: http://forum.avsim.net/topic/125226-md-11-problem-when-flying-a-selected-heading/page__hl__heading Given that fact, it's even more astonishing ( and disputable ), that PMDG didnt react in any of these topics handling the above mentioned issue. Obviously, it's not an isolated problem that occurs on a single system! Best regards Toto

Heading Select issue
Hello! I´m having a problem with utilizing the HEADING SELECT mode: Each time ( during AUTOFLIGHT ) I change from NAV to HEADING SELECT, the MD11 show´s difficulties with intercepting ( and holding ) a preselected heading. E.g.: when selecting a new heading ( say 090 ) and pulling the selector knob, the MD11 starts it´s turn as expected. However, the Autoflightsystem initially overshoots the selected heading by a certain amount ( usually around 5 degrees ) to a heading of say around 095. Thereafter, the MD11 starts it´s left turn, overshooting heading 090 again, starting to roll out and initiate a right turn when reaching a heading of around 085, and then the whole story happens again. In other words, Autoflight "oscillates" around the preselected heading whilst in Heading Select mode. Remarkably, this happens with no winds at all, no turbulence present ( not even the crappy occasional FSX default turbulence at lower levels ), turbulence effects around aircraft disabled, etc. Wind smoothing in FSUIPC is NOT active ( there´s no requirement with no wind ). Any thoughts on that...? Thank´s in advance Best regards Toto

Hi there! How do I evaluate the initial cruise level that the MD11 is capable of climbing initially to for a given weight? I do not mean the value indicated on the FMS PERF page, but a table in the handbook ( or other ressources around ). I remember there was a table given in the B744X handbook, however, I couldnt find anything similar for the MD11. This is especially of interest on short haul flights with a very high ZFW, in which cases the MD11 is neither able to climb to it's service ceiling ( due to weight ), nor will it be possible to perform a step climb ( due to short flight time ). So, for flight planning purposes ( entering a cruise level into a fuel calculator ), it would indeed be very helpful to evaluate the initial and highest optimum cruise level for that flight at a given weight in advance before you enter the cockpit.
