November 28, 200421 yr Although it looks a very nice program I personally prefer the "Endit all V1" It is easier for me to understand it and execute it. I am a bit scared with the things that FSAutostart stops and worry that I might damage my PC if do. Please do not misunderstand me, FSAutostart is a good program for those who know what they are doing.I feel more secure with Endit all.Stelios Stelios Christofides
November 28, 200421 yr "...FSAutostart is a good program for those who know what they are doing.I feel more secure with Endit all."Unfortunate that you feel that way. FSAutostart is far more powerful and flexible than EnditAll... especially for a gaming machine.Perhaps if you visited BlackViper's site where he explains each service and then you could better decide how to configure FSAutosart to work for you. http://www.blackviper.com/index.htmlRegards,Greg
November 28, 200421 yr Just fyi, but for the next version I plan on adding an automatic setting which will setup to shutdown recommended services and programs...this should help out those that are a bit squeamish. Also, remember that FSAutoStart does nothing permanent, so you cannot screw up your computer...if something doesn't work right, the worst thing you may have to do is reboot!
November 28, 200421 yr I can confirm Ken's comments. And I always turn blue doing PC stuff. FS Autostart cannot screw up your PC. I installed the latest version witha single mouse click and it ported over all of my settings intact from a very much older version without my doing anything at all.JS Jonathan Sacks Dell XPS Gen 4, Pentium IV Northwood extreme 3.8Ghz, 3Ghz RAM, eVGA 7900 GTO, 12 GoFlight modules plus MCP-PRO AP and EFIS, GF pedestal, CH rudder pedals, CH throttle quadrant, 42" LG LED, 24" DELL LCD, Windows XP, FS2004, FSUIPC 3.96 FS Autostart 1.1 (Build 11), FS Navigator 4.6, UT, FE, GE, REX, PMDG, Level-D, PSS, etc.
November 28, 200421 yr Ken I am glad that you are going to release a version with automatic setting for guys like me who are a bit nervous in messing with settings. Perhaps though I should experiment a bit with it and if as you say everything come back to normal after I rebbot then it will be OK. Ofcouse I guess there is also the System Restore...Stelios Stelios Christofides
December 1, 200421 yr Startup/shutdown is definitely faster on my system. Had no problems with installation, and had not removed the previous one. Just installed it in the same folder which the other one was. It wiped out the assignments that I'd made, but was simple to reset them. As I only have to do it once, it was no big deal. Also, by doing so, found one I'd been getting as an error message on the old one. That Id not been able to see, as the name in the error message, was not what you could see in the list. Evidently, You had marked that one to leave running this time, so I dont get that message any longer... Thanks for a great program. Bob
December 1, 200421 yr KenFor idiots like me could you include a check that Disk 4 is in the CD drive in any future version. Very frustrating watching the shut-down and then the re-start!!!mgh Gerry Howard
