November 26, 200421 yr Thanks for a great utility! It has made a great improvement in the quality of simming life.

November 26, 200421 yr "I wanted to know if you thought that the startup/shutdown of programs and services was faster with this release."Definately faster here. Thanks for such an important and powerful tool!Greg

November 26, 200421 yr Like to just take this opputunity to say thanks as well,One of my must have programs on my computer, I wonder how many others use it for other cpu intensive programs/games.Goes with out saying it works equally as well. Thanks from Pete :)
November 26, 200421 yr Hey Ken,Thanks so much for this little program. It is the greatest! It is much faster than build 9. I had not gotten around to installing #10.I am currently having a problem of crash to boot. It happens just as the last program is restarting after shut down of FS2004. I have all of my programs set to restart... could that be part of my problem? I am using PIII 800, 256 SDRAM, and Win 98SE.Also, I would like a list of programs which are safe to shutdown for Win 98SE.Thanks again,Earl
November 26, 200421 yr I tried again this morning to redownload this latest version and get it running. If I remember correctly the 1st version I installed about 6 months ago ( versions 1 build 5) was a snap to set up and get running. I don't know what I am doing wrong, but this version seems to be extremely difficult to configure and to start. I get past the point of selecting what I want to run and stop etc.. then I click the Start button and the Gui goes away , nothing else happens. Any suggestions would be appreciated.
November 26, 200421 yr Hi Bob,I had a problem with the previous version wherein if I added a program to the Autolaunch menu in FSAutostart and then try to start I would get a batch file error. Resolved it easily by doing a soft reboot anytime I changed something in the AutoLuanch menu.Good luck,Greg
November 26, 200421 yr Sorry to hear you are having problems. Please email me your profile and any screenshot that may be applicable and I'll try to fix it up for you.
November 26, 200421 yr To be honest, Windows 98 isn't stable to begin with, but I'm sure you already know that ;-). As far as a list of programs, you should be able to shutdown ALL software in Windows 98, even explorer (the desktop). I don't have much experiece with Windows 98 lately. I have tested the software using a virutal machine with Windows 98 installed and everything works fine, but it is a vanilla setup.
November 26, 200421 yr Greg, thanks very much for the tip. I was getting really frustrated with the batch errors, then restarted my computer and FM, it all works perfectly. thanks for this great utility Ken.Mark. Mark CYYZ
November 26, 200421 yr Wow Greg...I'll check that out and see if I can dup/fix this...You are now entitled to a FREE (yes, you heard it right) copy of FSAutoStart!
November 26, 200421 yr Hi Ken,"I wanted to know if you thought that the startup/shutdown of programs and services was faster with this release"...you bet! If you blink you are liable to miss it :) Well done!I do have one observation. This is not a big deal and it was present in the last release as well:I have a number of profiles set up to cater for my every needs (well almost ;)). Some Stop and Restart explorer.exe and this seems to upset Radlinker. My default graphic settings are 'Application Preference' for both AA and AF. My Radlink shortcut to FSAutoStart changes these settings to AAx6 and AFx16(Quality). FSAutoStart is configured to 'do not launch any app, just pause'. When I finish a simming session and close the FSAutoStart GUI my Application Preference settings are not restored. However, if I do not Stop and Restart explorer.exe all is well and my default settings are restored successfully every time.My assumption has been that this has nothing to do with FSAutoStart per se, but has more to do with stopping Windows Explorer which is why I did not feel it was worth mentioning before now. Cheers!Mike
November 27, 200421 yr Hi KenThanks for the great program. One question, having configured FSAustostart I seem to have caused a loss of the desktop icons and taskbar (which means that I cannot start additional programs like ActiveSky etc.) Can you please advise me of what I have done wrong?ThanksSimon Longstaff
