October 18, 201312 yr Hello everyone Nvidia has just announced a new technology which they call g-sync . it is pretty much a module that is going to be installed in gaming monitors which is a replacement for v-sync . please read this to fully understand what this thing does (cause obviously i suck in explaining ) . http://www.engadget.com/2013/10/18/nvidia-g-sync/ and watch the video if you can cause it explains everything . Regards Faisal Altheyab
October 19, 201312 yr Commercial Member I think this sounds completely awesome - it solves basically every issue there is surrounding vsync - loss of FPS and input lag with it on, tearing with it off, etc. Too bad that we have to buy new monitors for it though. October 19, 201312 yr Wow this is extremely promising. By default FSX is very very choppy even with high framerates and this will solve everything. It is already solved by VSync but there's a drop of framerates because of a feamerate limiter and I can't achieve 30 FPS all the time. I hope this will work as promised. October 19, 201312 yr Author I think this sounds completely awesome - it solves basically every issue there is surrounding vsync - loss of FPS and input lag with it on, tearing with it off, etc. Too bad that we have to buy new monitors for it though. i would personally buy monitors over a gtx 780 or titan to get that "wow" moment in fsx when everything is smooth like butter cheers Faisal Altheyab
October 19, 201312 yr Author im very happy they announced it because i was literally days away from purchasing a gtx 780 for fsx . but woohoo i guess i could save a few bucks and get a gtx 770 cause after all g-sync is going to do alot of smoothening to the sim . NVIDIA i love you  Faisal Altheyab
October 19, 201312 yr Well guys you can have smoothening already if you just enable vsync 1/2 in inspector. tweak i'd never fly without. will only work at 30 fps though. I guess that where g-sync will be an advantage. Verzonden vanaf mijn GT-I9300 met behulp van Tapatalk Arjen Vandervelde
October 19, 201312 yr LOL, I just bought at GTX 780 Superclocked for my brand new rig. Is this going to make me regret my purchase? A.J. Domingo
October 19, 201312 yr There will apparently also be a seperate G-SYNC module available so you can modify your current monitor, or better perhaps let some professional do it for you. At least according to this video: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bAmPfrJIWVM For those who didn't get it, it works like this: The monitors updating frequency will be DYNAMIC, so the monitor adapts itself constantly to the fps the game (or simulator ^_^) delivers. This will be like running with vsync off but without tearing and stutters and everything will be butter smooth and with virtually no latency, GREAT for TrackIR users.
October 20, 201312 yr Read this http://www.nvidia.co.uk/object/nvidia-gsync-technology-oct18-2013-uk.html and this http://www.geforce.co.uk/hardware/technology/g-sync
October 20, 201312 yr I just bought a 60" plasma for FSX and gaming in general. I won't be getting G-sync until Black Friday 2019!
October 20, 201312 yr When can we expect monitors for this? Sounds interesting. Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk HD http://fs2crew.com/banners/Banner_FS2Crew_MJC_Supporter.png Wayne HART
October 20, 201312 yr Author Q1 of 2014 but we still don't know how expensive will they be. Probably expensive haha Faisal Altheyab
October 20, 201312 yr Another great video to watch: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GtYqG7Xl-SU Explains the age old problems of stutter, lag and tearing and how G-SYNC comes to the rescue! This is all completely game changing and will be heaven for us fps struggling simmers, trust me.
