MAXXimizing the looks of X-Plane 10 :-)

Recommended Posts

Confirmed, sorry - the folder I dropped in "Custom Scenery" even reads:

Urban_Maxx_Extreme_V2_3D

That's what I have, and thanks for the head's up on this one.  I didn't even know this product existed, and it has addressed a criticism I had.

There is also on jsphan's site a link to, I think, "Texture Packs".  I downloaded (free) the "Old City" pack and installed it (it runs with an installer pack) and the Urban Maxx V2 3D package took on a new life.  Fewer shimmering buildings, etc.  It's a great addition to the above package and there are a couple of others which I will not try - only because I really like this one.

If you mean if you can enable them all, no, you pick one.

How do you like it Jcomm?  I think it has more distant grey areas, but the closer areas have more detail.

re: Great first name BTW... ;)

I think I was named for the room my Dad was in when I was born!

It looks great, at least here in Europe, and particularly Portugal and Spain, where I do most of my sim flying :-)

It was an excellent hint John! Thx!

Yes, more like different takes on the same approach.  Not every pack will appeal to everyone I tried to give the end-user more options.
