October 31, 201312 yr Yes indeed, I would get it if you are a 747 fan! I still fly it on long hauls despite the fact that I have the 777 and the NGX in my hangar. Visually is shows a bit of age, but there is still nothing like it! Nothing beats the thrill of an 875 000 lbs take off at full power in that bird! It has always been and always will be my favourite airliner! I cannot wait for the new 744, but as most have said here, that will take ages. And if the 777 is anything to go by the new 744 and the -8i to follow it will be breathtaking as usual! Get it, you won't regret it! November 1, 201312 yr I have theJ41, NGX and, 777 but I love the 747-400 in the RW. How does the VC quality and FPS stack up against the newer jets. I know the PMDG 747-400 is pretty old and had performance issues. Should I just wait till the 747V2 comes out? I have the 777 and NG and I was going to wait for the 747v2 but I just thought why not buy the 747v1 just for the sake of supporting PMDG. Yea it's dated compared to their newer releases but still fun to fly. If you want a bit of a demo first check out "FSXreality" YouTube channel that has a series of PMDG 747 flights with very good commentary.
November 1, 201312 yr The B748 version 1 is not that bad, but looking forward on the V2 Kin M. (Klax)
November 1, 201312 yr I've only flown the 744 twice since introducing the 777 to my fleet, but I still love to fly it even if the VC is showing her age a little (most noticeable after coming straight out of the 777 obviously.) I'd still recommend buying it as I still think the 744v2 is a good year away. V1 still shines brightly meanwhile: Chris Sunseri
November 1, 201312 yr While the VC graphics are certainly dated, the flight model and the sounds are among the best. I would also second that earlier opinion on the MD-11. Can't go wrong there.
