777-200 Passenger Capacity - What am I doing wrong!

Featured Replies

As the title says I am confused about Passenger capacity with my 777

Since getting PFPX (thanks to Kyle Rodgers videos about it which made me want it!!) I am starting to get into more detail on things! Gotta love this hobby!

If we take the Emirates 777-200 as the example here

I have set it up a profile in PFPX as per the data from Matt Davies in this you tube video

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=z6cFl5uT-uo

from 3mins 53 seconds where Matt lets us copy his settings.

It says 301 for PAX capacity which I entered in my profile for PFPX for the Emirates,

So once the I get the plan generated in PFPX I eagerly I go to set up my Emirate 777-200 in FSX to enter the PAX and fuel numbers that I intended to take from my Operational Flight Plan produced by PFPX where  I had 261 passengers listed as pay load.

So I got to the FMS on the 777 and go to enter payload, and this is where I am stumped...

I can only enter up 14 for 1st class, 48 for business and 172 for economy, now that's a total of 234 which is way different to 301,

I started googling this and have not been able to find an answer, except I did find that on Emirate website it says it's 777-200 holds 291 passengers again which is way different to the 234 that I can enter in my PMDG Emirates 777

As far as I can tell you can not adjust passenger capacity, and I don't remember doing so, so was just wondering if anyone had any ideas why my Emirate PMDG 777 only has a PAX capacity of 234 and not the near 300 that I think it should be.

It is probably something really simple staring me in the face but I cant work it out and since buying PFPX the little details start to become more important and this is bugging me.

I also tried loading different airlines such as Delta etc and the PAX capacity is also 234

Thanks

Correct.

Every plane is hard coded to have 234 pax capacity.

Not that it matters. What you want is the ZFW anyway. But for some reason this is an unpopular answer around here...

Yep  weight is  weight  doesn't matter how many passengers you assign  as long  as  the zfw matches pfpx  is  the main thing

Emirates fly more passengers in the 777 than most. They have 3-4-3 seating in economy. Most, if not all, other 777 operators use either 3-3-3 or 2-5-2. So Emirates squeeze in one more passenger per row.

hi keithy

I also noticed this about matts tutorial he has made a mistake regarding pax capacity I messeged him about it. As mentioned here already 234 is the max pax capacity for all variants/ liveries of the pmdg 777. The max pax weight (234) in the pmdg777 is 45700.0 lbs 20729.2 kgs. weight per pax is 195.299145299 lbs .

remaining cargo max total capacity is 116770 lbs .( forward = 39090 lbs aft = 27030 lbs bulk = 4950 lbs)

to convert to kgs divide figures by 2.20462

oh and also regarding pfpx the individual passenger weight figure used to calculate the total weight is not accurate to the pmdg 777.so you will need to either reduce the tot pax amount or reduce cargo amount to compensate. the fmc will give you all these figures if you want to spend the time doing the maths. just adjust the loads and watch the zfw change as you do so and you will see the difference between pfpx and fmc figures and its obviously fmc that counts. empty operating weight is 344200 lbs by the way

hope this helps
