November 10, 201312 yr Hi. I was half an hour from completing a 10 hr flight in LVLD 767 when I got this error (found in event viewer). I was running DX10, updated DX10 fixer, and "shade". I`ve read that a windows update can cause this, and so deleted it on last flight, but noticed it had re installed itself again. I`ve now deleted it again, and set my NVidea Inspector to standard. Can anyone suggest anything else I can try? Got my doubts with Shade.
November 10, 201312 yr .....Can anyone suggest anything else I can try? Got my doubts with Shade. I don't have this dll-file in the FSX root folder and I use shader. Where did you find this dll? Did you experiment with ENB or SweetFX and let some rubbish left after removing it? This has also nothing to do with the nVidia Inspector profile. Spirit
November 10, 201312 yr Author I`ll check if there any files left over from sweetFX. I did give it a try some time ago.
November 11, 201312 yr Here you go, young lad! FSX freezing with a d3d11.dll error... nowt to do with SweetFX or ENB - this is a Microsoft messup. Delete this Windows Update file - KB2670838 and it'll be gone. November 25, 201312 yr It's apparently got something to do with IE10. If you've got IE10 preview or beta or whatever that update will be installed as IE10 needs it. So I read on a Microsoft support forum. The World is divided into two groups. Those who say "Give me a link" and those that provide the link. WWG1WGA
November 25, 201312 yr That sounds right Ron. I had been getting the FSX CTD's with d3d11.dll called out lately. As I think about it, the problems did start after Windows Update decided to automajically upgrade me to IE10 (without asking). I followed Steve's advise to remove KB2670838 and was automajically reverted to IE9. I am hoping this fixes the problem. I had one clean two hour flight last evening without a problem. | Windows 11 | ASUS ROG MAXIMUS Z790 HERO | i9-14900K | RTX 4090 | 64GB CORSAIR VENGEANCE DDR5 | 4TB Samsung 990 PRO M.2 | 2x 4TB Samsung 990 PRO M.2 | CORSAIR AX1600i ATX Titanium | LG C2 42 Inch 4K OLED |

November 26, 201312 yr Unfortunately I searched my box for said file but I don't seem to have it I wonder if MS removed it on my last update or nvidia removed it on its update? I guess the only way to find out is waste some time and see as the OP did
