Prepar3d and Orbix Scenery

Featured Replies

I know that some of Orbix scenery is compatible with Prepar3d. Can I legally use my FSX Orbix scenery in Prepar3d. Or, do I have to buy new Prepar3d scenery.

Thanks.

However, you will have to wait for and use updated installers or the updated migration tool!

The new installer for FTX Global will be released before coming monday, but updated installers for other addons may take a while (up to months if not a year). All new products will (of course) be P3D 2.0 compatible right away.

The migration tool is a tool that can link your installed and working FSX Orbx products with P3D so you don't have to reinstall them again. (Afaik this only works with regions and airports, not with FTX Global). So if you have FSX installed right now and want to keep it, this might be an interesting option. Quick and you can use everything right away. Afaik the new migration tool will be released pretty soon too.

Thank you. Sounds like the migration tool is the way to go. Will the

performance take a hit using the tool?

Not at all.

I looked at the Iceland demo, and the documentation said it was for FSX and P3D, but also stated it was for entertainment only.

Maybe that's just the demo. Haven't read the Global documentation, or any of the documentation for other recently released products. Appears to be mutually exclusive.

Perhaps the Orbx documentation will be updated at some point.

Orbix. Is that a character from Asterix and Obelix?

Cheers, Bert

Orbix? That's long for Orbx. :)

In that context the use of the word is to specifically exclude it from being used for "real-world navigation and training." This is a liability clause to preclude being sued.

You can't have it both ways. It is what it says.
