November 23, 201312 yr Ok so I have a brand new computer with the PMDG 737NGX installed and for some reason I can hear the engine sounds just fine but there are zero cockpit sounds. It was the first time I loaded the aircraft and I realized after moving a few switches and pushing a few buttons that there was no sound in the cockpit except for the engines.

Hi, This may help...It was put out a few years ago by Tabs... "Btw guys Q does not reset the custom panel sounds we process and load ourselves - it's purely for the engines, which use the FSX sound system. There's no issues with our custom sounds, they use the latest Xaudio API and in reality operate fully outside FSX.The things to check if you're having custom sound problems are the sound device changing or blanking out and not having installed the latest DirectX runtimes from the Microsoft site (which are included in the NGX installer at the end too, some people skip them despite the warning not to.) That's 99.9% of the sound issues we've seen at support. " Regards Geoff Bryce

Sounds like you should check your sound options in the FSX menus. Ensure that the sounds are sent to a particular device (or you can set the default device in Windows directly). Additionally, ensure the sound options are set properly in the PMDG FMC Options. Kyle Rodgers
November 25, 201312 yr I've had this happen recently - I have a couple output options - HDMI, digital out, aft jack, front jack. The one that I needed was not in the menu at all. What helped was disable the HDMI and digital out (that I don't use anyway) in Windows and reload the plane. Then select the correct out. --Peter Fabian
November 25, 201312 yr Commercial Member I've had this happen recently - I have a couple output options - HDMI, digital out, aft jack, front jack Yeah, it's happened to me a couple times. I plugged in a USB headset, which freaked Windows out, which then freaked FSX out. Once I sorted everything out in the Windows Audio options, everything was back to normal. Heck, I've even had headphones in and sound coming out of the integrated speakers, simply because I plugged in a new audio device. Gotta love Windows... Kyle Rodgers
November 25, 201312 yr Author I've had this happen recently - I have a couple output options - HDMI, digital out, aft jack, front jack. The one that I needed was not in the menu at all. What helped was disable the HDMI and digital out (that I don't use anyway) in Windows and reload the plane. Then select the correct out. Maybe that is my issue then. I am actually using a HDMI cord because I am using a TV as a monitor. I will go look at the settings and see if I can fix it. Thank you all for the suggestions.
