November 26, 201312 yr So as I clicked the purchase button, I knew I should really be waiting a while, until more inital reports came in, but I got caught in the moment! ........ still, I just had this nagging feeling, things weren't going to go well... ..... I never thought they'd screw up THIS early though !!! Bought and downloaded P3D 2.0..... Ran the installer, it proceeded to about 98% on the progress bar within 5 minutes............ and has now sat at that 98% point, uncompleted for the last 40 minutes :- ........ How long to I sit here and leave it for? Has anyone else had this problem? I've never had this with any sim, since FS5. I mean, I've had a ton of tech problems, but never just a failure to even install. I have browsed to the location where P3D is suppsed to be installing on my HD and I can see some files; so maybe it's installed, but I'm scared to quit the installer in case it screws up licences, simconnect, etc. Something is still running because process and CPU-wise, my PC is on it's knees.... pages taking ages to turn over etc, even creating the above screenshot took 10 minutes to render in Paint.NET! Did anyone else have to quit the installer because it just did not complete? :( Seriously, what a start....

You may want to check you're not running low on C:\ drive available free space in which case installer will have a hard time generating temporary files and the likes. November 26, 201312 yr Same thing happened to me. I tried to installl right from WinRAR without actually unpacking the zip file. It ran fine right to that point and then just froze. I just cancelled out and unpacked the zip and restarted the installation and it finished in about 30 secs. Seems like it froze on the directX and dotnet updates. I'm thinking it was the fact that I didnt unpack the zip that caused the problem but could be wrong. Anyway you can just cancel out at the point it froze and restart the install. Worked for me
November 26, 201312 yr Just a suggestion. You may want to check you're not running low on C:\ drive available free space in which case installer will have a hard time generating temporary files and the likes. That was my problem! I only had a couple of GB free on my SSD (which is C:). So I wanted to install V2.0 to a seperate folder on my 1TB HDD (which is I:). I started the setup.exe and chose the installation path (I:/Lockheed-Martin) but installation was cancelled due to a lack of available space on the storage deveice ( 500 GB left on my HDD)! I shifted REX OD to my HDD and gaines 17 GB with that. After this the installation worked (but it took its time ). Now I have only 2.5 GB left on the SSD so the installation eats up 10 GB on your system drive no matter were you install the program to. (Yes I have 17 GB in my I:/Lockheed Martin-file). BTW: The instruction pdf seems to be corrupted... :( IXEG 737 Beta-Tester and First Officer i7 [email protected], 32GB RAM, Palit GTX 1080 GameRock Premium@2Ghz, Oculus Rift S, ButtKicker X-Plane 11 latedt version on a Samsung M.2 SSD for speedy loading times
November 26, 201312 yr Commercial Member I got stuck there for a bit too, computer went all icky, so I went off to watch an episode of Top Gear on the iPad, came back, all was well and the install was completed. I had 400GB free on the install drive, I'd wait for a while before doing anything, did the trick for me. Aamir Thacker
November 26, 201312 yr Thanks guys. I do have plenty of HD space, and also I had unpacked the Zip already. Anyway I resisted the temptation to cancel the frozen install, and eventually, (after just over an hour) the install completed. Now, next problem, unrecoverable black screen on intermittant use..... but I'm off to hound an existing thread about that one! Cheers,
November 26, 201312 yr Now, next problem, unrecoverable black screen on intermittant use..... but I'm off to hound an existing thread about that one! Had that one as well. This is a bug that LM is currently working on(there's a thread on this one on LM's P3D forum). Only workaround is either disable HDR or start and exit P3D in windowed mode. If the game wont start at all, delete your cfg and P3D makes a new one just like good old FSX:-) Ryzen 7 9800X3D || MSI RTX 5090 Gaming Trio OC 32GB || G.Skill TridentZ 32GB@6000CL32 || Asus ROG Strix B650E Kingston Fury 4TB M.2 NVMe || Phanteks Glacier One 360 T30 v2 || Phanteks NV5 || BeQuiet Straight Power 1200W LG C4 42'' 4k@144hz || Oculus Quest 3 || Turtle Beach Velocity One
