Tongass Fjords X?

Featured Replies

Damn, I would hardly refer to Tongass X as a hole in ORBX scenery. It is still better than 2/3 of the converted FSX-to-P3Dv2 payware scenery out there (let's not compare it to products that were developed for P3Dv2 right out of the box). True it lacks a P3D installer but again, it works for many of us.

I don't mean to dismiss the troubles that some folks are having but I am just not seeing them -- or maybe I am having them as well and just havent found them yet.?

Maybe there are some components/textures in ORBX libraries or Global that are supporting Tongass X in someway, without actually advertising it.

What's even worse is that Orbx are building around this region, so even if you do have all the Orbx regions, there will be a hole unless you have Tongass Fjords X installed.

I just close my eyes when flying between PAJN and PAKT :P ! Actually a good mesh and FTX  Global make the trip bearable but you don't have all the goodies on the ground. I miss Sitka. The best thing would be that Tongass X goes back to its original architect, Holger Sandman. Not something we'll see anytime soon... 'nuff said.

It would be amazing if the add-on went to the hands of Orbx. They could release it again with some updated stuff and of course with a triple installer.

Yeah I agree. Maybe do a little discount for existing FSX customers, but still charge something for the additional content, however minor.

Hi all,

I just got the latest Estonia tool and installed tongass into p3d v3.1

Install was fine but I have the trees in the water and land where sea should be.

I know I need the custom cfg entries but the topic at fsaddon mentions the list but it's not there or the attachment has been removed.

Where can I find this list?

It's also a little disappointing that the installer itself can't just be updated to point to the correct folders. It's not exactly a huge project from the looks of it.

Also, I thought the migrator tool would have taken cared all this too?

Thanks,

Glenn

Hello Glenn

I did a manual install and have Tongass working just fine in P3D v3.1

That is an elevation problem, make sure you have these files in Scenery\world\scenery

AF2_FSX_TF_CAB5_elevation_adjustment.BGL
AF2_FSX_TF_CBM5_elevation_adjustment.BGL
AF2_FSX_TF_CBW4_elevation_adjustment.BGL
AF2_FSX_TF_PAFE_elevation_adjustment.BGL
AF2_FSX_TF_PAKW_elevation_adjustment.BGL
AF2_FSX_TF_PAPG_elevation_adjustment.BGL
AF2_FSX_TF_PASI_elevation_adjustment.BGL
AF2_FSX_TF_PAWG_elevation_adjustment.BGL
8 File(s) 3,605 bytes

The files are there FSAddon, but you have to signup and login to be able to see them.

I don't have the Estonian Migrator but I suppose it should have added the areas to the

C:\ProgramData\Lockheed Martin\Prepar3D v3\terrain.cfg

There should be 40 Tongass Fjords entries. Check if you have something like this:

(First of all Make a backup copy of the file)

// Tongass Fjords FSX custom textures 1 of 40

// Tongass Fjords FSX custom textures 2 of 40

etc.

If you don have them, send me a PM.

Cheers.

PD: Make sure to run ORBX Central and apply NorthAmerica.

Ramón.
Time, is the one thing no one can buy.

Got it all working with the terain.cfg entries. Thanks.
