Do the CalClassics have VCs? I believe that was one of the major criteria of the original poster. I am curious as well.ThanksDave

Yes in deed! I've been watching this one.

Well, I just figured out that the only thing I was clever enough to back up before the hard disc crashed fortunetaly was the Shacks "key", so I could simply re-download her and re-install. I'm looking forward to the upgraded version, but in the meantime I can happily listen to the Griffon growl again!Jaap.

Actually this is the new entry page which introduces the new Dash 7 with VC. Do not expect the VC version before Valentine's Day however. :-)http://www.flightsimonline.com/Dash74/

I think some may have a vague outline of one, but nothing like the pic above. That looks brilliant.

The freeware Tupolev Tu-114 from SAMDIM design is absolutely stunning and incredible. You will love watching those enormous counter-rotating props come to life. Make sure you get active camera so you can tour the entire finished interior with sleeping berths. Actually this is donationware and considering the quality of the work done it is as good or better than many payware offerings. Send a donation and encourage them to continue putting out work of this caliber :)Zane

"One of the best freeware machines of all time IMHO." OHYEAH! I just got ** and have been flying the B-29. Greatstuff BUT I'd rate that connie right up there with it. Couldn't wipe the grin off my face for a week...and I almostnever fly "Big Iron" I think Tom and the FSDZIGNS crew havereally hit a homer with that connie. 2D cockpit, sound file...memo to self...get BIG speakers and new deluxe sound card asap.prop animation all just WONDERFUL. Kent Morris informs me Weain't seen nuffin yet, says just wait till we see the VC theyare working on. Just cant wait. Denny

After all the talk about the Connie in this thread, I downloaded it before work this morning. Nice self installing Freeware that handles like it's payware. Last time I flew a Connie in FS was FS98. Got home tonight and fired it up. What a difference, this plane handles and sounds great. Nice systems modeling and even a user forum. Check it out.http://fsdzigns.com

HOLY BAT-PROP! It's happened again!Every couple of months I trip over a post like this that gets me looking at something I've never noticed before. Like Stellan Hilmersby's amazing freeware DC-9 panel a couple months ago.I've probably seen the Calclassics site along the way, but never cast it much thought. But this thread (and having been in the Smithsonian Air & Space Museum on a slow day last week gawking at the panel on their walk-thru DC-6 display) caught my attention, and I installed the L049 Connie last night. What a gem! I use a PFC floor-mounted yoke, and the heavy controls are really apparent when you have to use long hard throws on the yoke...just like having to manhandle one of the old propliners. The sounds are positively stunning as well.Today, after some intense combat-shopping, I'm going to load the DC-6.Unbelievable indeed!CheersBob ScottATP IMEL Gulfstream II-III-IV-V L-300Washington, DC

I just landed from a flight DTW-MKE in the Connie. I can't believe that the people that designed this plane let it go as freeware. It is worth $$$ in my opinion. You really have to fly this bird like the real thing including managing power, prop rpms, manifold pressure, cowl flaps for temperature, and everything works correctly... Was I bored on this flight, not for a moment , you are just too busy checking and setting things. Flew the ILS into MKE and greased it on ...... :) :) :)Applause for the designers..... clap ... clap...

Just a heads up. SAMDIM designs released the Tu-126 (the AWACS version of the Tu-114) yesterday... absolutely incredible. Those big counterrotating props are one of the coolest things I've seen.Check it out,Zane

Hi again, had a few probs logging in so its taken a while to say thanks for all your responses. The wings of power B17 is superb, just what i wanted.will have to check out some of the other suggestions. just reading the review in pc pilot on the TU-114, does look good. Its a shame that i'm addicted to the vc because i'm clearly missing out on some amazing aircraft packages! It amazes me that some of these packages are freeware. when you think of the time and effort that must go into creating them. cant wait to add captain sim's C-130 to my hangar.thanks again
