December 18, 200421 yr I would certainly buy the Shackleton Project SAAF Shack Mr3, if I were you. Although I personally find the 2D panel substandard (and made a much improved version for myself), I seem to be the only one who notices the dozens of perspective anomalies there, so my fair guess is that you won't see them either. The VC is better, although partly based on the same photographs (from the wrong angle) that the 2D cockpit was made from, and if you ever sat in a REAL Shack cockpit you'll notice that for instance the box with the U/V cockpit lighting is pityfully unrealistic. But if you never saw a real Shack cocpkit you won't notice at all, and even those who DID sit behind the yoke of a real Shack often don't know (or PRETEND they don't know) what the heck I'm talking about. The flight model is absolutely SUPERB, the engine sounds are bloody GORGEOUS, the systems/procedures are GREAT, the outside visual model looks IMPRESSIVE, the 2D panel can be lived with if you simply don't know (or disregard) the rules of perspective, and the VC is even with its flaws more than good enough to be truly enjoyable. In short: I consider the Shackleton one of my best buys ever, and I think you would too.One advice: the Shackleton Project guys have their own forum. Never criticize their product there, because there're so tunnel-visioned that they simply can't see what you mean, and the whole posse will sink their teeth into your tender flesh. And when they're done with you, they'll ban you from the forum. In short: a VERY good product, made by as nasty and hateful a crowd as I ever encountered in this field of human endeavour. But this should not prevent you from buying their Shack, for once again: it's bloody GREAT!Be well!Jaap Verduijn.
December 19, 200421 yr I like the Boeing 314 Clipper flying boat from "Pilots". It has a decent 3D cockpit, imo. As no flyable Clipper exists, it's hard to say if the flight model is realistic, but it's believeable, imo. It was originally designed for a previous version of FS, but got an extensive makeover for FS9, making it up to date with most planes designed for FS9. You can find more info here : http://b314clipper.com/It's one of my favourite big oldtimers.CheersPeter
