I'm thinking Obrx FTX: Global.

Would this be best, or am I missing something others find critical?

Have you considered hardware?  Maybe treat yourself to a new set of rudder pedals on a holiday sale?  After installing P3D FSUIPC Track IR and EzDoc were priority add ons for me so if you don't have any of those that's where I would spend it. Even if you had to save a bit more or scour to find a sale.

FTX Global is great software too so you would do well with it.  Problem with Orbx  scenery is that they are addictive so you can consider that fair warning.

If you want Orbx Global, get Orbx Global. It won't be money wasted.

The World is divided into two groups. Those who say "Give me a link" and those that provide the link. WWG1WGA

It pains me to say it, but FTX Global is probably one of your best $100 investments.

FTX Global & Steves DX10 Fixer

DX10 Fixer in case he's still running FSX, right?

I also say FTX Global, best addon to make your worldwide scenery go way above any competition.
