Cannot change airplanes

Featured Replies

My problem is I cannot change airplanes after the default has started at the startup screen. When I select a different plane the FSX freezes.

The default flight starts fine. The only thing I have done  since it last worked was update my navigraph FMS data. Help please.

Have you tried uninstalling Navgraph? Perhaps you could try using a recent

Windows system Restore point! Post more details of your system.

Try removing your FSX.cfg file out of its usual folder.  FS will create a new one.  See if that fixes the problem.

Does it matter which plane you load?  Can you load another FSX-supplied plane?

No my default plane loads fine just when I try to change planes it freezes. I can't load any type of plane.

A suggestion:  have you disabled PreLoad in FSX cfg?  Or else, when the default aircraft pops up on the screen, allow your computer to load all the files associated with it (may take a minute or two), before you try to change aircraft.

Lower your settings. Your system cannot handle the additional resources required to change aircraft. Go back to the FSX default settings.

I'd be interest to know as well in case I ever decide to install the said plane.

BTW, no offense to the original poster and not directed at him, but it always bugs me when someone has an issue, people try to help, then the poster comes back and says the problem is suddenly fixed without giving a short description of what ended up being the problem and what the solution was. In this case it was a "bad plane". Well what plane was it? How did you discover that's what the problem was?

Glad the OP fixed it, but please give us some info so that going forward if anyone else has this issue in the future we might know how to fix it.
