December 25, 201312 yr Hello I was not sure where to post this but lately I have been having this border around the sun which looks odd. I noticed this happened after installation of REX4 but cannot say for sure REX 4 is causing it. I have set Direct X to DX10 enabled in REX4 for sun effects. I am also using the DX10 fixer tool. Its best described with a screenshot below: Anybody else having this issue with the sun? Any ideas what may be causing it and how to correct? Thanks and Happy Holidays to all!! December 25, 201312 yr Commercial Member Probably an issue with one of lens flare textures. Copy the content of suneffect.cfg from FSX folder root. December 27, 201312 yr Author [sCENERY] LENSFLARE=1 DAWN_DUSK_SMOOTHING=1 IMAGE_COMPLEXITY=5 ShowMissingTextureAlert=1 I have added the entry into my FSX.cfg and still have the same issue with sun. Also after adding the line to my FSX.cfg I get an error message that states: Failed to load texture: sunglow2.bmp? Any other suggestions? John Pipilas Win 10 - i7 2600k CPU - AMD Radeon R9 Fury X GPU
December 27, 201312 yr Author Here is another pic of the sun. I have removed the MissingTextureAlert=1 line from fsx.cfg and I have disabled lens flare: John Pipilas Win 10 - i7 2600k CPU - AMD Radeon R9 Fury X GPU
December 27, 201312 yr Looks like the missing texture alert has alerted you that the missing texture is: sunglow2.bmp. Don't have REX4 myself, so I can't speak to whether or not it's a REX4 issue.
December 27, 201312 yr Commercial Member Indeed, I would suggest you ask over at the REX forums. The issue is a missing texture, whether it is related to REX I cannot tell but they should at least be able to tell you if sunglow2.bmp is a texture that they recognize. My FSX Analysis Blog
December 27, 201312 yr Commercial Member Yep, as I mentioned, you're missing sunglow texture from FSX/Texture folder. Two solutions: - edit suneffect.cfg file in FSX root folder and find this line: SunSize=1200MoonSize=6072SunTexture="sun.bmp"LensFlareCount="6"RenderCorona="0"RenderGlow="1"RenderMoonCorona="1" change to RenderGlow="0" This way you disabled sunglow texture in FSX. Second solutions is to find sunglow2.bmp file somehow, either install FSX again, or try Gauges Recovery tool (find it on google). December 27, 201312 yr Author Thanks for the input fellas. This sun issue has started after installing REX4 so I will check in on their forum as well for the missing sunglow texture. John Pipilas Win 10 - i7 2600k CPU - AMD Radeon R9 Fury X GPU
