January 6, 201412 yr Baton back at KEGE. Overstressed on descent. Had some over-speed in transit too. I didn't leave me enough wiggle room for my "steep" descent. That is why we practice! In other news all other connections work. FSX was stable, Plan G worked wonderful, MP was stable and had TS up and running. All in all I am quite pleased in this new laptop! Even though it is an i3 it is doing quite well!

Was hoping on the winds in FS matched the real world. Mother nature had it in spades, and FS listened. Initially, and finally, did go for the unlit rny 10... Calling over teamspeak to Buzz, " Airport in sight, got the final, no, going around, do not have the final, yes, got it." The airport itself was well lit, the runway was not, with a huge set of pine trees on final. ( Pictures modified for brightness ) This is what it would've looked like coming in from the south. (poor planning, "time is .... ") Along the way over the the radio, which didn't work so well, heard there was a solar eruption that would affect nav... Got a 418 out of the cat! January 11, 201412 yr Baton free at CYWK. Started my descent a little late so had to do an extra loop off the end of the runway to take some speed off. Otherwise it all worked - nice tail wind all the way too. An early morning start..... I thought you might like to see the paint job for the P-51H I did just after last year's race. It's fairly simple and not perfect, I've only done a little repainting. If anyone is interested in having it though, I can post it somewhere (I'll update the race year to 2014 and take my name off first!).
