January 11, 201412 yr Hi Everyone, So I finally bought the PMDG 777 but I'm having a few problems. Every time I load the aircraft, I get a warning telling me that the product was unable to create its work files and to make sure that I'm running FSX as administrator (which I am). Also, when I load the aircraft, I get horrible VC views. In fact, the only clear displays are the PFD, ND, and FMS. I'm not sure if this is because I'm using Windows 8 or if there's another reason for it. Any help would be greatly appreciated!

January 11, 201412 yr Not enough information to work out what's wrong, but it definitely does work fine on the awful W8.
January 11, 201412 yr It works fine on Windows 8 and 8.1 . You need to send more info on your rig and settings. Ron Ron Service .
January 11, 201412 yr Author Going into this I knew that there'd be problems associated with W8 but I figured I'd give it a try anyway, otherwise I'll just revert back to W7. To give you guys a little bit more information, I've taken a couple screenshots. Thanks again!
January 11, 201412 yr Commercial Member OP: Install FSX in its own folder (C:\FSX or something similar) - Win8's UAC behaves differently than it did in 7 and it can sometimes still cause this type of issue even if you're running it as admin. aca763er - first off, sign your posts pleases, it's a forum rule here. On the issue - make sure you have the FSX option "High resolution virtual cockpit" checked and make sure the Global max texture resolution slider is maxed out. January 11, 201412 yr Author make sure you have the FSX option "High resolution virtual cockpit" checked and make sure the Global max texture resolution slider is maxed out. That got it working well for me, can't believe I didn't think to try that. Thanks! aca763er
