January 16, 201412 yr Tonight after a very long time in the hanger I brought the mighty MD11 out the hanger and I missed it! I just thought I would use it at the 777 replacement until V2 is out. It is still up there in my eyes with the NGX and 777 and I know it wasn't a great seller for PMDG (and no I'm not going to ask for it to be updated because unfortunately that won't be happening and I respect that decision from PMDG) but I just thought I would say I'm still loving it after a while on the ground. Hopefully others will take there's up for a spin! My flight is booked for Bimans DC10 retirement scenic flight at Birmingham and I can't wait to fly on it! February 11, 201412 yr I still fly her now and then,I've learned more about the MD-11 after flying the PMDG 777 (guess I should actually read the manual ,but the niggling thing was the trim where ######in Betty would complain. Flying the 777, I had to set the trim per the manual, and I had one of those Eureka moments. Now the MD-11 is one of my favourites again. February 11, 201412 yr Commercial Member I haven't brought her out in forever. Looks like I should probably do that soon. I'm sure it'll be a shock to my system, but it'll be nice to have an odd number of engines for a few flights. ...and guys, I love you, but being your local grammar [party of a dude with a weird moustache who hated everyone], I have to just put out there: Hanger - what you put clothes on Hangar - what you put planes in Kyle Rodgers
February 11, 201412 yr Haha, I can't believe they took out #####in Betty. I thought that was the correct term Jude BradleyBeech Baron: Uh, Tower, verify you want me to taxi in front of the 747?ATC: Yeah, it's OK. He's not hungry. February 12, 201412 yr ...and guys, I love you, but being your local grammar [party of a dude with a weird moustache who hated everyone], I have to just put out there: Hanger - what you put clothes on Hangar - what you put planes in You are our local grammar what, exactly ? Have you used 'grammar' as an adjective, but left out the noun ? And what are you 'putting out' ? The cat for the night ? The garbage for collection ? A fire ? Surely not everybody was kung fu fighting. https://rationalwiki.org
February 12, 201412 yr Commercial Member You are our local grammar what, exactly ? Certain forums censor the word, so I tried to say it in an obnoxiously roundabout way. Grammar ###### is what I was going for. EDIT: See? No idea why it does it, but it does it. Think World War II, a weird moustache, and a stolen Hindu symbol of peace/goodness/well-being, reversed (in both physical and symbolic ways). And what are you 'putting out' ? The cat for the night ? The garbage for collection ? A fire ? haha - it was supposed to say "put that out there:" ...but of course, my work laptop forces you to use a wonderfully old version of IE that doesn't cooperate with anything. Kyle Rodgers
February 12, 201412 yr Okay I understand. By the way, don't worry; you aren't a member of the grammar NSDAP anyway. 'Hangar' and 'hanger' is a case of mistaken usage, not grammar. Surely not everybody was kung fu fighting. https://rationalwiki.org
February 12, 201412 yr And what are you 'putting out'? Mindful of US usage, I shudder to think. Moving on. I've never put my MD-11 into the hangar or on a hanger. It's always been one of my favourite PMDG planes. I like to fly them all regularly.

I haven't flown the MD-11 for years!! I tried it out a few days ago. My PC is a lot more powerful than the old rig i used to fly it on and as such it runs very very smoothly. I forgot how involved it all was and the screens within the virtual cockpit are clear as day. It's a delight to fly and i am glad i got it running again and yes i agree it is right up there with the NGX. Phil Brewer. My Flight Sim Blog www.sim-deck.co.uk
