FlyTampa's KTPA

Featured Replies

Now that I'm fully DX10, I'm checking all my airports and my all time favorite (KTPA) is experiencing a decrease in performance when using dx10. Could it be the grass?

Does anyone have any other issues with FT KTPA?

Some of the lights look different. I'm just wondering if the lights or grass could be causing the drop in fps.

Thanks.

Jose

I deleted the grass and now performance is much better.

Ya I always do that with payware addons as long as there is a bgl file to delete, sometimes I think it's burned into the entire airport model like what FSDT does then you can't delete it.

If you ask George or Martin on their forums - you will likely get a patch for it, Jose.

Has anyone figured out a work around to the lighting issues with the VASI and flashing strobe lights while using DX10? Even with Steve's fixer I'm still getting the big red wall and flashing black boxes...

I sent them a PM. They will be working on an update after P3D v2 update is released.

Great info, Jose! I like FT's responsive "attitude" - they see or hear about a problem, they don't argue or make excuses, or try to make one feel inferior - they just look into it and then put out a patch. No hassles. I had the old FS9 KSAN - one of my first (and best) airports, and couldn't recover it from a backup CD to try it in FSX-DX10.... I called up their support, spoke with a charming lady, and within two minutes it was being downloaded!

It didn't work at that time, but the Fixer has advanced considerably from that time, so I should give it another shot.... hmmm.

All the best!

I have to agree with you on that PJ. I have given up trying to explain  to Mr Kok and his followers on the Aerosoft forum, they just refuse to see the wood for the trees.I fell like I am conducting an orchestra in a brothel just mentioning  DX10 in their forums.
