February 16, 201412 yr Somehow I can resize the popup panels but can no longer drag them out of the way while in the VC. I have EZDOCK installed and am wondering if this could have something to do with it? Thanks! Chris Camp

February 18, 201412 yr Commercial Member Where exactly should I be grabbing the popups? On the edges. Have a look at the intro manual - it's in there, too  Crazy how much thought we put into that thing only to have it ignored, eh? Kyle Rodgers

February 18, 201412 yr I can't find any reference to moving pop-up panels in the intro manual. I see opening and closing and resizing but not moving. Also, should my cursor change to a grabbing symbol when it is over the grab bar? Mine just remains as an arrow. Dugald Walker

Just spent a half hour going over the 163 page Intro and 126 Page Tutorial Manuals page by page (ALL 285 PAGES!) and only saw clickspots to open and close the popups referenced not how to "DRAG" them! Shheeesh! You would think in an Official PMDG SUPPORT FORUM you would actually get some useful time saving advice or some reasonable semblance of support but I guess that's just too much to ask around here... Now that I wasted 30mins of manual searching and another 10 minutes REPOSTING HERE (when I could have been flying) could somebody please give me some useful advice and keep the sarcasm to themselves... February 19, 201412 yr Author Well, it seems to be an issue for me currently and possibly even a Bug! I can successfully click and drag the popups about 2 out of ten tries even when grabbing at the same exact spot. Tried dragging from every possible edge without success except for the below... The top left 1/4 edge seems to be the only dragable clickspot for me and again even when knowing exactly where to click and drag I'm successful 2 out of 10 tries... Very frustrating when your trying to multi task in a busy VC and the popup window completely blocks your view... Maybe EZDock has something to do with this???? Chris Camp

Well golly, I certainly can't think of any worse punishment than reading a manual... I thought I'd written it in there. My apologies for having a lapse of memory. CTRL+F is a great way to find information in the searchable manuals. There's absolutely no reason it should've taken you 30 minutes to find that it's not in there. Because of this earlier error, I decided to search the forum for you and noticed that it seems you're about the only one having this problem. The others seem to be doing just fine after finding that you just click and drag somewhere near the border, despite the border (again) being smaller. For what it's worth, part of support is providing someone the best source for the information, and not necessarily the exact answer in your own words. First, multiple encoding and decoding of information as it passes through various sources is how misconceptions come about. Second, there's the whole teach a man to fish concept. Perhaps next time you'll look to the manual first next time. I'm very sorry for forcing you to waste your time reading something you should have already read. In any case, not to say I'm the only helpful person around here, but good luck getting help in the future. I won't be helping you any further, and with an attitude like that, I doubt too many others will be going out of their way to help you, either. Maybe EZDock has something to do with this???? It's possible. ...and it's EZDok. Sorry, was that too much sarcasm again? Kyle Rodgers
February 19, 201412 yr Upper edge only. A very narrow area indeed. Cursor shape doesn't change there. And definitely not in the intro doc ... What happened to AVSIM
February 19, 201412 yr I can grab anywhere on the MCP pop-up. The various screen pop-ups have a 2-3 mm wide strip all around the edge. On a marginally related note and because it's not important enough to have a separate post, is anyone taking care of the typos in the instruction manual? Dugald Walker

I can give it a look and pass it on, but if you have page references, it would greatly help both of us out. Kyle Rodgers
February 19, 201412 yr page 5 “Dubai and the UAE has become the central” page 9 “set the parking brake or use the level in the VC on the pedestal” page 19 “(a fix is a just point in space defined by latitude and longitude)” page 34 “the 5550A restriction at MM012 is correct per the Jepp charts.” page 79 “you see the top of decent (T/D) point coming up” page 92 “roll the MCP ALTITUDE knob down to the flaps 15 maneuvering speed” Hope this helps. February 19, 201412 yr I can grab anywhere on the MCP pop-up. The various screen pop-ups have a 2-3 mm wide strip all around the edge. (...) My mistake. To make up for it: Depending on your monitor settings you may actually see that strip. It's pitch-black, slightly different from the gauges' background color. What happened to AVSIM
