Sure you can do all the work by yourself, but what I like about pfpx is it takes less than 5 mins to have an accurate flight plan, where it would take me at least 30 to 45 mins, which is why I guess it costs money.

I do not regret buying pfpx at all. I just did a 15 hour flight in the 777, and the fuel burn was only 1 tonne off and 6 minutes late on the arrival time, but i am blaming that on active sky.

try changing the mipmap detail all the way over to quality

I had something similar happen with the weird lines and it turned out my graphics card, which is the same as yours, was getting way too hot.
