February 28, 201412 yr This has all happened after my PC has been to the PC Doctor for cleaning. Sometimes you need to learn to do things yourself, i have seeing a lot of badly built pc's by so called experts. That comes to repairing, My 70 year old dad fixes his own. Is FSX installed in the default folder, bad start, is UAC turned off, is it run as Admin, usual questions. You dont need service packs, as acceration has them , slightly different sp2.
February 28, 201412 yr Did you install FSX SP2? The NGX requires that FSX SP2 be installed. You can do this by either installing it as a stand-alone update or installing Acceleration (which includes the service packs). March 1, 201412 yr Did you install FSX SP2? The NGX requires that FSX SP2 be installed. No. The OP has Acceleration. If you own Acceleration, do not install it over SP2 or install SP2 afterwards. FSX SP2 was released AFTER Acceleration and is the freeware version of Acceleration. It is coded differently so you cannot use the payware in Acceleration. If you install SP2 AND Acceleration you will have problems. Appreciate you trying to help though! Best regards, Jim Young | AVSIM Online! - Simming's Premier Resource! March 1, 201412 yr I agree, he does, indeed, have Acceleration. But from the original post it sounds to me like he hadn't yet reinstalled it. And there doesn't seem to be an issue regarding him installing both the stand-alone SP2 patch and Acceleration. As you said, just trying to help..... March 1, 201412 yr I would say don't mess around trying to fix it if you screwed up, put it down to a bad experience, uninstall FSX, do some research on how to do a good install of FSX + Acceleration or SP1 & 2 if you don't have acceleration (but not both) and reinstall FSX. Then when you are done, do some more research on how to set up FSX properly (HIGHMEMFIX etc) and you will have a nice trouble free setup. Regards, Rick Hobbs
